A week later...
Grayson's POV
"We did it bro!" Ethan jumped on me making us both fall down as we laughed.
"Boys get up you'll ruin your gowns!" My mom playfully scolded.
This all feels so unreal, it feels like just yesterday I graduated from high school now I'm an official college graduate.
I'm an official adult!
"Let's go eat!" Ethan said as he gently grabbed my moms hand.
"How does it feel to be a college graduate?" My sister Cameron asked as we walked through the crowd of people towards the car.
"It's a little overwhelming" I said making her chuckle. "Now I'm officially out in the real world. I have a job and Ethan and I are thinking about getting a house maybe but I don't know my mind is just like, 'what now?'"
"Don't worry" she hooked our arms. "I felt that exact same way when I graduated but if you play your cards right things will be fine"
As soon as I started thinking about my future Mavis popped into my head and I reached into my pocket to grab my phone.
I pulled away from Cameron excusing myself from her before finding Mavis's contact.
I brung the phone to my ear and immediately heard her voicemail.
Weird, her phone is off. She'll call me when she turns it back on, I'll send her a text just to be sure.
Me: Hey! I graduated
I quickly deleted that cringing at the thought of it deciding to just wait for her to call me.
Ethan's POV
Skibeechie's kitchen
I sat at the big table with my family laughing at the funny stories we were telling about Gray and i's childhood. Mom occasionally tearing up telling us how we grew up so fast, and my grandma asking us repeatedly when she was going to receive her grandchildren.
Maybe she will from Grayson, but there is no way in hell I was having children anytime soon.
That got me thinking about Raya and what she said the other night.
After I went home I thought that the next morning I would be relieved that she had rejected me but I didn't, I felt sad. I want her to be my girlfriend I'm sure of it, I just have to find a way to convince her.
Mavis: I'm outside, hurry!
"I need to use the bathroom" I announced getting up from the table.
"I'll go with" Grayson said putting his fork down.
"No!" I shouted quickly making everyone give me a weird look. "I'm not a baby I can go by myself" I forced a chuckle before walking off.
But instead of going into the bathrooms I took a right and exited the restaurant to where Mavis was waiting.
When she saw me we both had huge smiles in our faces. I hugged her wrapping my arms around her waist spinning her around.
"Ethan!" She giggled. I put her down and she fixed her hair. "How ya feeling graduate?"
"I'm feeling great, like I'm on top of the world" I chuckled.
"You're going to feel even better tonight" she winked before reaching into her skirt pocket taking out a key.
"Here's my hotel room key" she handed it to me and I looked down at it with a smile.
"I'll text you later, if I stay out here they'll get suspicious" I leaned down kissing her cheek before we went our separate ways.
Tonight was going to be a good night.
