for the next week i had to sit in my room because my dad had beaten me so much that he didn't think i should go to school. he told me that if any teachers ever asked what had happened for me to stay off i need to tell them i had been in a fight with someone, which is kinda realistic.
i woke up the day i had to go back to school "up shithead, you're going to school today" my dad yelled coming into my room. i didn't respond and he left anyway. i got up and went for a wash, then got dressed. i put everything i needed into my bag and left the house. i made my way to ash's and we walked to school.
"why were you off" he asked "i was in a fight" i sarcastically said "max" ash said holding my shoulder and turning me around as we came to a stop. "you can tell me whatever's going on, you know that right" i nodded and smiled "thanks but i'm pretty sure my dad would kill me if it got around" he smiled a little at me as we arrived in school.
"yo ash" i asked and he turned to look at me. "can i stay at yours tonight" he kinda shrugged and was about to say something before the teacher interrupted "mills, you would like to share with the class what you couldn't wait to tell ashley" miss park asked "it's none of your business is it" i said as she sighed "well if you don't want to share it then zip it" she made the action for zip it. she went back to the lesson. "so can i" i asked again but miss park interrupted me again "max and ashley. isolation now" she yelled as we stood up and grabbed our bags walking to isolation together.
the bell rang but mr bell had already came and let ash go but made me stay. "we have phoned your parents to come and collect you, you've been suspended for a week" he smiled as if he was happy to be getting rid of me. "no, no please" i begged "why? you're not staying in school" i looked down and felt tears forming in my eyes. "he... he" i looked up and i think he got at what i was getting at because he nodded and went away. after a few minutes he came back.
"show me" he exclaimed as i stood up and he closed the blinds. "isn't this wrong" i asked he nodded a bit "you can either not do it and go home with your dad or do it and i can't help you" i waited for a minute and began to take off my shirt. revealing all the bruises and cuts that my dad had cause.
we stood in silence for a moment before he got a phone call saying my dad had arrived. he hung up "get your shirt on, your dads here" he said "but you said..." i was interrupted "all you need to do is just go home tonight and i'll sort it tomorrow" he was almost pushing me out the door as i got my shirt back on. i grabbed my bag from the door and we left the isolation room and walked into the office. i saw my dads angry face standing as i got closer and closer to him. i knew what was going to happen when i got home, just by the look on his face.
