i looked up and saw him, he looked not to different, he had grown a bit of a stubble and gotten thinner but that was it. he smiled at me "hey max" he said and opened the door to his house. i walked in and sat on the couch, the dude just sat in the corner and my dad sat next to me. "so how have you been" i shrugged "ok" i said, too afraid to say too much. my dad looked a lot stronger than the social worker. "do you want anything to eat, or drink" he started asking but i shook my head. "look, i know it's a bit weird because obviously i used to... yano... but trust me i'm a changed man i would never do that now. i understand it's wrong and.. i'm sorry" he said, turning to me. "yeah i know" i said, he smiled. "that's great" he smiled, he did seem different but i think it was just because there was a social worker.
"so do you want to watch something" he asked, i nodded slightly and he turned on the tv. for some reason he put on the chase, he used to hate that show. it was weird being around him again but i guess i was a bit glad that my dad wasn't gonna batter me now. i just still has that thing in the back of my head that was telling me he was putting on an act and just faking it, but my dads never really been good at acting.
finally i got to go back to amanda and justin's. i was so glad. justin picked me up in his car and we broke home. i got dinner, which was like sausage and mash which was delicious. it was only about 6:30 by the time i finished so i went into my room and turned on the tv, a bit glad of how today turned out. i felt my eyes getting heavier and heavier and finally i was asleep.
