"Daniel!" You squealed as you jumped on his back unexpectedly.

"Woah! Slow down there bucko!" he laughed as he held ypu up by the legs. You laughed as he continued walking down the hallways.

"Guess what!" you practically screamed.

"Chicken butt" he chuckled as you slid off his back.

"No, idiot. The auditions for Grease are coming up soon!" Your heart pounded from all the excitment, the female lead being Sandy, a nice respectable girl, her summer filled with romance with the male lead, Danny, and she has to move to a new school, not knowing it was with her summer lover. You were going to audition for Sandy.

"You gonna go?" Daniel asked, already knowing he was going to audition as well.

"Duh" you laughed. Just then Kenzie had her arm draped around Daniels shoulder.  (If your name is Kenzie change it to someone else? Like some girl that you really hate)

"Whats this I hear about you auditioning for the play?" she asked. She held her head high and a smug smirk on her lips.

"Me and Kei here are" He smiled at you as he removed Kenzie's arm from his shoulder. He walked beside you and put an arm around your waiste. You felt a small blush creep onto your face. Kenzie got you a death glare as she chuckled.

"Don't get your hopes up hunny. I'm auditioning for the lead role of Sandy and mommy and Daddy are pretty powerful" she added in a mocking tone.

"At least Kei will get it with pure talent and not Mommy and Daddys money. I think we will be going now" Daniel shot back. He turned us around and we walked away into the library.

"God I hate her" Daniel laughed as you two headed to the back of the library. His hand trailed across your back and was now resting on the small of your back. You felt shivers shoot through your spine, all you could do was smile and keep walking. Enjoy the moment while it lasts.

"You're telling me" you remarked in  sarcastic tone. Daniel raised his hand to his heart and acted offended.

"Oh grow up" you laughed and lightly punch his shoulder.

"Yeah yeah. we better get going to class. After all, it is Drama" he laughed.

You rolled your eyes and walked to your next class.

About a weel has passed and you were getting extremely nervous for the auditions. Your school was very musical and artsy, so it was no surprise when Grease was chosen for the musical you would be doing. Of course it would just be some parts you would be doing, deffinitaly not the racing car scene, no smoking, etc. In all honesty, it was a pretty bad version of the movie grease, but, it was something.

You and Daniel have been practicing everynight for the past week, seeing as though you both were good at memorizing things, it didn't take long. Daniel didn't have any serious competition, but you had to worry about Kenzie. You held your head high as you walked into the auditioning room, but hung it low as the day ended.

Kenzie got the part. Of course she did, she bought her way in using Daddy's money. At least I got cast as her understudy.

"Did you hear!?" Daniel asked, he had found you in the library. Sitting at the back, curled up with a book, trying to avoid him.

"Yeah, I uh- I did" You gave him a fake smile as he slumped down beside you.

"We get to be the lead roles together!" he squealed with excitment, he put an arm around your shoulder and brought you into a side hug.

"No Danny, we don't. I'm Kenzie's understudy. I didn't get in" You huffed. You stood up and started packing your things.

"NO, no thats not right. I read the cast!" he looked worried, embarrassed, hurt.

"Well you read wrong" you snapped as you walked away. Daniel tried to call after you but you kept walking.

You knew that you would never have a chance with Daniel now, he would fall for Kenzie, just like everyone else does. It wasn't long before you and Daniel stopped having contact. You spaced yourself with him so you  wouldn't get hurt. It wasn't long before you saw Daniel and Kenzie walking into his house, him and her in his room. You saw it when they practiced the kissing scenes.

You had to see him every morning with that ame happy smile the morning after. Being his neighbore was a curse sometimes.

You went to all the practices, you had no choice. Being the understudy, you had to be there so you knew everything just in case the lead got sick or couldn't come.

You sat in the back room, making sure you didn't have to watch Daniel kiss Kenzie.  Unfortunatly, that didn't work out to well.

"Kei! You need to make sure you know how this scene happens so get out here!" Your drama teacher yelled. You sluged into the main room and watched as Daniel and Kenzie acted out the scene.

Her acting was blunt, lifeless, she looked and sounded like a robot. You would have been so much better, so much more lifelike, exciting, giving to the role.

It was now after rehersals and it was a week away from the play. You were walking down the street to your place when you heard footsteps approaching you quickly.

"Hey Kei!" you heard Daniel shout.

"Yes?" You asked in an annoyed tone as he finally reached you.

"Why have you been avoiding me lately? We barely talked in the past month" he smiled as his breathing steadied.

"Don't worry about it Daniel. Shouldn't you be off making out with Kenzie or something?" You snapped without meaning too. He was always with Kenzie, either making out or practicing the scenes.

"Is this what its about? The fact that Kenzie got the lead role and you didn't?" Daniel asked, "Or is there something you aren't telling me" he riased an eyebrow at you as you continued walking.

"Just tell me!" he yelled again.

"Fine! If you want to know than Fine! Yes it's something more! I like you Daniel James Seavey! I like you alot and seeing you constantly making out with Kenzie or being with Kenzie all the time hurts. You fell for her just like everyone else does. It hurts to see the way you look at her and know that you won't ever look at me the same way because after this  you won't ever want to be my friend again. So there. I like you and I'm slowly breaking because of it" you cried as you walked away from him.

Daniel remained speechless, glued to the ground, not able to run after you and tell you.

A/N: Okay well thats part 1, as you can see it isn't really good because I'm facing writers block right now AND IT IS VERY STRESSFUL!!! But I will try my best and get part 2 done soon. I'm so sorry that this didn't really turn out good, but I hoped you some what like it???
