There's a couple of things I should say to you
The tears that rolled down Jeongin's cheeks were not happy, nor sad, but a combination of the two. It was confusing. To feel such high emotions when he felt so low. Chan's words made sense and cleared up a lot of things, they made Jeongin feel more loved than he had done for a long while. But they also made him feel sort of empty. That's what confused him the most. Even when he was being offered everything he had pined for, he still couldn't decide whether or not he wanted it.
Even hearing Chan's voice filled him up. Filled him up to the brim with this sensation of utter love and requirement. Jeongin smiles slightly, tracing the cracks on his phone screen and replaying Chan's words over and over again in his head. There was nothing more fulfilling than being wanted. But he wasn't wanted was he? Chan had literally said that.
He was flipping the phone over and over in his hand, the cool metal sliding easily across the smooth skin. It was such a familiar weight, so comforting in its presence. As if a reminder to Jeongin that he wasn't alone.
Which was possibly why he was so shocked when Love Scenario started blasting and his phone vibrated excessively in his hand.
"Hello?"
"Jeongin, darling, how are you? Have you eaten? Do you need me to come over? No, scratch that, I'm coming over, I'll be there in ten minutes, love you lots, darling, I'll be there soon." The younger boy giggled slightly as Woojin hung up, beginning to tidy up the area around him before realising that Woojin would probably hoover anyway.
The elder was a complete mother to Jeongin, constantly checking up on him and making sure he was safe. It was a comfort to the younger, because he often struggled to keep himself secure. Having Woojin to support him made all the difference. Which was probably way the two got along so well.
He cuddled further into the couch, sipping the mocha he had made himself, which was ninety percent chocolate, nine percent cream and one percent actual coffee. The chocolate soothes his throat, which was full of phlegm and felt raw as hell. The pain in his throat was nothing in comparison to his mental state, but it still hurt. He wouldn't deny that.
A solid rap in the door announced Woojin's presence, the elder boy swanning into the room and immediately feeling his temperature.
"Oh you poor bubba, you aren't feeling well at all, are you? Come on."
Jeongin usually hated being babied, but there was something different about when Woojin did it. He didn't do it to be funny or stupid, he did it because he genuinely cared about Jeongin's well-being. He did it because it was his nature to mother his friends and to shower them with love and affection. He did it because he wanted to.
"Hyung," Jeongin croaked out, wincing at the volume of his tone and burrowing further into the little nook he had created.
The elder handed him a warm cup of honey and lemon and folded himself in beside the younger. "So, I've been told that you and Chan are back on speaking terms?"
"I'd hardly call it speaking terms, we spoke and argued and then I left - that's hardly progress. That's more like a step in the wrong direction."
"At Least you spoke to one another, that counts for something." He let his hand trail through the soft brown locks atop Jeongin's hair.
"Does it, though?"
"Yes, my darling, it really does. It counts for a lot."
Jeongin simply nodded in response, muffling his response by pulling a pillow onto the tops of his knees. Woojin sighed slightly and murmured comforting words into his ear.
"If it helps at all, I'm sure Channie will come around. He's far too besotted by you not too."
"I wouldn't call it besotted, hyung, you know what happened."
Woojin let out a small noise of confirmation, but continued to wind his fingers soothingly through the younger's hair. Jeongin allowing muffled whines to escape when Woojin reached knots in his tousled bowl cut.
Slowly, Woojin allowed the small boy to fall asleep, coaxing him over with mumbled lullabies and good old fashioned cuddles. It was heaven to the younger and Woojin knew that. He knew that Jeongin secretly loved being taken care of, no matter how much he protested and he knew that Jeongin would always, always come to him for help. Maybe Hyunjin first, but normally Woojin was the more reliable friend.
A/N - I'm sorry it's short but I'm ill and my body hurts so take it or leave it
