Congratulations, glad you're doing great
Jeongin laughed, the sound resonating through the street. His arm was still vaguely sore from the blood samples, but Woojin was rubbing it gently. The elder boy was behaving like an absolute idiot; going to extreme lengths to attempt to make Jeongin laugh. He had succeeded, but the playful look didn't leave his face.
Thick scarves swamped both of the boys, protecting them from the nip of the air. This was Jeongin's favourite time of year: when the nights began to draw in, the leaves crunched when you kicked them and people seemed to smile just a little more than usual. Happiness was something that Jeongin thought to be beautiful on all people.
Woojin had been making awful puns and telling Jeongin dad jokes for the best part of half an hour. The younger had been beaming uncontrollably the whole time, but finally cracked over a chronic play on words to do with toast. He had already heard it multiple times, but it was the light on Woojin's face which caused the laughter. The elder had such a firm requirement for approval; Jeongin was always willing to fulfil that need.
The younger took note of the look on the elder boy's face. The way his eyes creases slightly at the outer corners, how his mouth quirked up more on one side than it did on the other, how his cheekbones became slightly more prominent. Jeongin loved to see his friends happy. This time was no exception.
Still giggling slightly, the smaller boy nudged Woojin. "I heard that you have your eye on someone," his tone was teasing and lilting, his affection for Woojin coming through - regardless of the taunting.
"I do not!" The response was quick, Woojin shoving Jeongin and snacking the back of his head. They must have looked quite the pair: two silhouettes bothering one another endlessly. A blush crept onto Woojin's cheeks.
"What's his name?"
The older pouted, "I'm not sure, his friends call him Min though."
"You have a crush on someone but you don't even know their name?" Jeongin sounded incredulous, perhaps because he was, but it was very unlike Woojin to fall for people before he knew them quite well. He was terrified of the prospect of heartbreak. "That's not very Woojin of you."
Woojin pressed a hand to his heart in faux hurt, "You wound me, Innie, you really do. How could you even suggest that I'm an impostor? Who else would rub your arm continuously?"
Jeongin laughed, "That's not the point, hyung." He whined a little, laughing at the glare he received in return. "Don't lie to me, I'm your favourite child, right?" He fluttered his eyelashes slightly.
"You won't be my favourite for much longer if you keep this up."
"Yes I will, hyung, you love me."
"Is that so?"
"I hope so. God knows I need you to buy me hot chocolate at the nearest Starbucks." Jeongin settled the pace of hid walking slightly, attempting to match it with Woojin's. The elder was slowing down to crunch the leaves underfoot; a favourite past time of his which Jeongin had never fully understood. He humoured the taller boy anyway.
"Oh, so I'm just a drink's slave now, am I?"
"That's all you've ever been."
"You little shit," Woojin tickled his sides slightly, eliciting squeals from the smaller boy. He sounded slightly like a piglet, but Woojin found it some what endearing. It did Jeongin good to remember that he could be happy without Chan. Regardless of who had broken who's heart. Woojin shoved Jeongin's shoulders slightly. "It's good to see you happy, Innie."
Jeongin just smiled slightly in response, nodding in such a way that his floppy fringe fell into his eyes. He attempted to blow it away, but realised that even trying was futile - He lifted his hand up to brush them away, admitting defeat.
"Are you really that lazy? You won't even raise a hand to move your fringe without sighing from the effort?" Woojin rolled his eyes at Jeongin, letting his wave of judgement wash over the younger. The fringe needed cut, in his opinion, it was far too long.
Jeongin stuck out his tongue like the child he was.
With that, the younger skipped off down the street, almost immediately colliding with another figure. The taller grabbed him before he could hit the ground, but his fingers pushed into the bruise from the blood samples. Jeongin whimpered slightly.
"Shit, mate, are you alright?"
"Chan?!"
