she thinks she was born in the wrong family
she was born to one where everything was cut even
deadlines, appearance, social status
she saw the world as it was
they saw the world as something that revolved around them
she saw the darker parts
of herself
and as people talked to her
she grew darker
and darker
and months it took to fix her
nights of 3 am and tears
nights that were barely worked through
they never knew that they were killing her
the words made her run and hide
hate every inch of herself
hate her appearance
hate her mind
she was being destroyed
and when she was almost better
she went to them and told them
and it took her months
to voluntarily say it
and they cried with her.
but then they turned around
everything was about the darker parts
everything she said was magnified
everything she didn't want to do was because of depression
you learn it from your friends
they exclaimed
but then turned around
taught her to stuff down the feelings
and the words on her lips
as if they were more
more important than her
because of blood
because of family
and she couldn't help wondering
how much blood had covered her wrists
because of family
she couldn't express any parts of her anymore
her style
"you're not trying."
her music
"god that's so dark."
her looks, her beliefs, her.
she was taught to hide everything
that made her who she was
that made her happier
she knew that if she weren't blood
if not family
she would hate them
hate the kind of people they were
