Singing

Your POV:

Walking, walking, walking, SO MUCH WALKING! Well, I knew that we would walk a lot but I would rather be killing orcs or whatever the fuck I would be doing at this hour! Okay, I'd probably be depressing in my room because I can't read fanfictions here. OH YEAH, I AM SO SAD THAT THERE ARE NO ELECTRONICS IN THIS WORLD BY THE WAY! I didn't even have my phone! I'm so bored right now that I'm swinging my sword around while walking.

Gandalf- I remember when you couldn't use a sword.

He chuckles a bit and I scoff at him.

(Y/N)- Yeah, well, we don't exactly learn sword fighting in Canada.

I roll my eyes as I say that. The Hobbits turn towards me in confusion (I'm behind to keep an eye on everyone since there were time skips in the movie) and I cringe in my head as I realize that I said something I shouldn't have said.

Merry- I never heard of that place before!

I laugh awkwardly and sweatdrop.

(Y/N)- Haha, it's pretty far.

Merry- Wow! Is that why you talk a bit differently?

(Y/N)- Yep!

As we stop to relax a bit, I sit farther off the others so I can calm down. I've been stressing a lot and it's complicated to stay concentrated. I hear footsteps behind me and smile as I recognize the sound of Hobbit feet.

Pippin- I have a question.

I look at him and tilt my head to the side as I hum for him to continue. He sits down next to me looking excited and curious.

Pippin- What are the songs like where you come from?

I almost laugh my ass off but somehow stay serious.

(Y/N)- It depends. There are songs about everything, really, and every style. Are you asking me this for a reason in particular? You sing, right?

He nods with a big grin on his face.

Pippin- I'd really like to learn songs from where you live!

Oh, HELL NO! I am NOT singing while there are people around! Fuck NO!

(Y/N)- You... you want me to... sing?

The fear could be heard in my voice but he's pretty oblivious, so he doesn't realize.

Pippin- Yes! Please teach me songs!

He gives me puppy eyes and I groan in pure defeat.

(Y/N)- Alright, but not here. I don't want the others to hear us.

I take his hand and run a bit farther off the group, feeling eyes on me. When we are far enough so people won't hear, I let go of his head and turn around so I'm facing him.

(Y/N)- What kind of song?

For the rest of the pause, I teach him songs and we sing together. When it's time to go, I make him promise not to tell the others or I won't teach him other songs again. He keeps his promise, which is pretty surprising. Merry knows but it's because he came to get us once while we were singing, I almost died of embarrassment. We've been walking for several days now but, since I'm a part elf and part skin-changer, I'm not tired. Annoyed, yes, but not tired.

(Y/N)- Good job, you sang it perfectly!

Like every day for the past few days, I'm teaching Pippin songs. It's troublesome to find some that don't talk about something that isn't in their world but I've been doing good for now.
