The Castle Under The Moon

Chapter Thirty-Three

Once Shadows group gets to where they are supposed to be he shifts back into human form, the rest of the men follow suit.

Owen's group were up in the trees that surrounded the house, they were all ready to jump when needed but they were mainly there to keep watch.

Brock's team was behind the cabin while Shadow's were in front, surrounding the cabin in full.

Shadow looks up and to the left and smiles when he sees one of Owen's men in the trees.

With one last glance at the men who were standing behind him, awaiting his command, Shadow turns and faces the cabin, leaning his head back closing his eyes as he lets out a howl from deep within his chest, feeling whole with his beast.

Not long after him, Shadow hears Brock and Owen's howls and then lets out a loud yip, encouraging everyone to move forward with the plan.

After that, Shadow's mind was set on one thing and one thing only as he stalked towards the cabin. Rescuing Luna.

At the same time, both Shadow and Brock bust the front and back door open, making them slam against the walls behind them, clearly scaring the two men that were on the couch.

As they file into the house Asher and Barrett watch with wide eyes, shocked to see that amount of men.

"Well, that was unexpected." Asher laughs and shakes his head.

"Are those theirs?" Brock points to the weapons that were laying on the kitchen table and then to the three, now awake, men that were tied up in the corner.

Both Asher and Barrett nod, not bothering to open their mouths.

"Can I go pee now?!" Came Valda's loud, scratchy voice from the bedroom.

Shadow's head snaps to the bedroom door, taking a deep breath, his body instantly calms down when Luna's scent filled him.

"We should probably get these guys back to the castle." Garver chuckles as he pokes at Chase, having seen the look that came across Shadow's face when he had smelled Luna. "Im sure that Gabriel will have a few words about you bringing weapons and men that you said you weren't going to bring."

Without another word, Shadow makes his way to the bedroom door, his long, lean legs eating up the distance.

Barrett couldn't stop his smile from appearing as he watched the giant man open the door and disappear into the room.

"Alright, everyone, out!" Asher shouts, standing and waving his arms, hating the stuffy feeling that came into the house with all of the guys.

Not long after he had gone into the room, Shadow comes back out, holding Luna bridal style while Valda was screaming.

"How dare you!" 

"I'm going to go untie her." Asher tells Barrett, a scared look on his face as Shadow leaves the cabin with a red faced Luna.

"You shouldn't have left her in there." Luna mumbles, lightly smacking Shadow's chest with her left hand.

"If she wasn't being so mean and would have stopped screaming in my ear I would have." Luna smacks his chest again, though she was smiling with him.

His eyes widen when he looks up from Luna's face, all the men were standing in front of the cabin, awaiting his command.

"What should we do with them?" Brock asks, jerking a tied up Chase around while Garver and Owen were holding the other two.

"Take them and their weapons straight to Gabriel, the rest of you go home and get to bed."

Right when Shadow finished his sentence the men disappear into the woods, deciding to not shift so that it would be easier to keep an eyes on the three men that they were escorting.

"They seem to like you." Luna smiles warmly, happiness settling within her.

"Nah, he's just really big and scary!" Grover pokes his head out from behind a tree, a goofy grin on his face.

Shadow's laughter bursts out of him like it was the funniest thing that he had ever heard.

Luna's heart grew and sped up as the lovely, deep sound filled her ears, thankful she was here to hear it.

"We're heading back." Owen pokes his head out where Grover's had been just mere seconds ago, a small smile on his own face.

Shadow just grunts and looks down at Luna, his own heart skipping a beat or two when he sees her eyes sparkle.

"I like when you look at me that way." Shadow whispers, deciding to be honest about everything from this point on.

Luna's cheeks heat but she doesn't look away, the big man's eyes holding her captive.

"I like when you laugh like that." Luna whispers back, her face becoming darker while Shadow's smile widens, the scar on the left side of his face crinkles.

"Thank you for saving me." 

"Always." Shadow leans forwards, his forehead touching hers as heat spreads through both of their bodies.

A coughing sound comes from behind the pair, causing Luna to roll her eyes and Shadow to groan, angry that the moment was interrupted.

"Get a room." Asher laughs as he and Barrett shut the cabin door.

"That's the plan." Shadow grumbles as he begins to walk to the woods, heading to the castle, stomping his feet a bit like an upset child throwing a tantrum.

"Shadow!" Luna cries out, her face going even darker, which was a surprise to Shadow because he didn't think that that was possible.

"Yes?" He looks down at her face, still walking.

"Why would you say something like that?!" 

"Because it is something that mates do." 

As he looks away, Luna's eyes widen, still focused on his face.

"What?" She whispers, her mind seeming to go into overload.

"Jaiyana paired our souls together." Shadow mumbles, hoping that he was doing the right thing.

Her eyes were still locked on his jaw, her heart hammering in her chest, something new filling her.

"We will talk about it when we get home." Shadow sighs.
