After a few heated moments Mary pulled away from the kiss when she remembered that her parents were still an issue.
''Luke,'' Mary exhaled, her lips softly brushing against his, ''My parents.''
Luke pulled away quickly as if he had forgotten completely about the situation they were in at the moment.
''Fuck,'' Luke muttered, the panic arising once again, ''What are we supposed to do?''
Mary thought about it, but since she thought that overthinking was stupid she just said one of her first ideas, ''Pretend that you're my boyfriend,'' Mary started to reveal her brilliant idea, ''Then they can't be angry over that you spent the night with me.''
Now Luke was the one that was overthinking, he was kind of the king of overthinking.
He honestly didn't know what he thought about Mary's suggestion, sure it was smart but at the same time Luke wished that they actually were together, and if they pretended they were now maybe they would never be.
Luke didn't know.
Luke never knew.
And therefore he just shrugged and let out a quiet ''okay''.
Mary noticed Luke's hesitation, maybe she shouldn't have said that, she just didn't understand why.
Mary didn't understand.
Mary never understood.
And therefore she just shrugged and let out a quiet ''good''.
Both of they just stood there, kinda awkwardly not knowing what to do, what to say.
So it was kind of bittersweet when they heard Mary's mom yelling from outside the door, ''Is he inside your room still?''
''I swear Mary Anne Jackson, if you don't open this door now,'' Her dad said angrily whilst trying to unlock the door, in vain though, ''Forget that car of yours.''
Not Abigail, they could take her phone or computer or anything, but not her car.
So Mary being afraid of her dad actually taking her car away from her went to the door after giving Luke a reassuring smile as if saying ''it will work'' but the fact was that Mary didn't even believe it herself.
She really fucked it up this time.
When Mary opened the door both her parents stood there, surprised that she opened the door because usually Mary just ignored their yelling.
Mary made quick eye contact with her mother, so many feelings rushing through her when she noticed her mother's disappointment.
Mary wasn't her sister, she would never be, she didn't want to, but she felt like her parents wanted her to be.
Mary stopped her thoughts before they increased and teared her eyes away from her mom's.
''This is Luke.'' Mary said gesturing to Luke.
Luke being the awkward person he was walked slowly to Mary's parents whom he was terrified of at the moment.
''I'm Luke.'' Luke said quietly, extending his hand towards Mary's mom first. Her mom, who didn't want to be rude, took his hand and shook it.
''I'm Mary's boyfriend.'' He continued, feeling out of breath for some reason, whilst now reaching for Mary's dad, who shook his hand back wearily.
''I'm sorry that our first meeting was like this,'' Luke trailed off, because he honestly was sorry for it, ''I should probably leave now.''
So that's what Luke did, he smiled at Mary, who looked really shocked, before walking past Mary's parents and out of the room.
Shortly afterwards Luke walked out of the house.
Luke was determined that this wasn't the last time he would see Mary.
Luke had, for once, a plan.
And it was a really good plan.
An idiot proof plan.

An idiot proof plan for an idiot, haha okay no I'm joking.
