The moment Mary passed through the front-door she felt her phone give away a slight buzz.

From: LukePuke

I miss you already babe

From: The only one

Miss you too Lukey

From: LukePuke

Lukey??

From: The only one

Yeah, you're my Lukey

Mary wrote before giggling quietly to herself and took off her shoes and ran up the stairs to her room without even checking if her parents were home. She didn't really care to be honest. All she cared about at the moment was how her stomach was fluttering all thanks to Luke.

And you're the angel from my nightmare

From: The only one

Stop being so adorable, it makes me feel bad for being such a dick at times..

From: LukePuke

But I love you for who you are

Mary let out a groan, instantly feeling bad. Mary kinda always felt like the villain when it came to her and Luke and she hated it. She just wished she wasn't as sarcastic as she was.

From: The only one

See.. you did it again now. But don't worry I'm the one that should be more lovey to you not the other way around. Let me make it up to you somehow..

Mary felt like she had been too serious and she didn't want Luke to feel bad or anything so she did what she was best at; making a serious situation less serious.

From: The only one

Whatever you want it to be;)

From: LukePuke

God, Mary you make it so hard for me

From: The only one

Is it the good kind of hard..?

From: LukePuke

I'm honestly blushing so hard, stop.

When Mary wanted to reply back to Luke her phone started to vibrate with an incoming call. It was Kate.

''Hi'' Mary said softly, still feeling bad for not telling Kate fully about Luke. That was why Mary hadn't talked to Kate for such a long time. She just felt like the guilt was eating her from the inside. Mary hated that feeling.

See Mary was such a bad person to everyone she held close to her heart and she didn't understand why. She was the worst daughter, girlfriend (not that either Luke or Mary had asked the other to be their boy/girlfriend, it was kind of just obvious that they were) and friend alive.

''Why have you been ignoring me?'' Kate asked with a sad voice as if she would start crying at any second.

Mary felt her stomach twist in the most uncomfortable way and she started to feel a lump in her throat.

''I..'' Mary said faintly, ''I haven't''

''Yes you have Mary, you never talk to me anymore. Ever since that party you haven't been the same. Please tell me why'' Kate responded with a strangled voice and Mary was sure that her best friend had started to cry when she heard her sniffling.

''It's just been about a week..'' Mary whispered hesitantly as if she was afraid to wake someone up. Maybe she was afraid that she would wake up her conscience.

''Just?'' Kate almost yelled, ''we used to not be able to survive if we didn't talk everyday'' She continued with a sob.

Mary didn't know what to say, she just felt so mad at herself and she wished she knew how to handle situations like these. She really wanted to tell Kate why, but now when she thought about it Mary should've told Kate from the very start and she didn't understand why she hadn't. Mary just didn't know what to say, so she said nothing at all.

''I miss my best friend'' Kate said now with a low voice almost as if she had already given up on Mary. She hadn't, but that's what Mary thought.

''I'm sorry'' Mary cried out and felt tears run down her cheeks.

''Why?'' Kate said without really wanting to know the answer.

''I just feel so bad Kate, I've been keeping something from you and it makes me sick to my stomach'' Mary sobbed.

''What is it?'' Kate asked sniffling, curios to the reason for Mary's absence.

''There's this guy..'' Mary sighed out, her outburst dying down.

''Who?'' Kate whispered.

''His name's Luke, and I think I'm in love for the very first time Kate. And it scares the shit out of me'' Mary said so faintly that she hadn't even been sure if Kate had even heard her.
