"Mary!" Kate yelled out the moment she opened the door and saw Mary.

Kate grabbed Mary's shoulders and pulled her into a bone-crushing hug because, well, that's what best friends do.

"I've missed you too fucking much you idiot." Kate laughed out, not letting go of Mary.

"Same." Mary giggled out, her arms securely around her best friend.

Luke felt kind of awkward standing behind Mary and being totally neglected from both his girlfriend and his girlfriend's friend, so Luke let out a low, awkward cough to try and get the two girls' attention.

"Oh," Kate breathed out when she noticed that Mary wasn't alone and that there was a boy behind her, "who's that?" Kate asked Mary, her eyes not leaving Luke's for a second, but still not letting go of Mary.

"That's Luke." Mary said, emphasising her boyfriend's name in the hope of that Kate would remember Mary talking about him.

Mary wiggled out of Kate's arms and took a step backwards so she was next to Luke.

"Luke, this is Kate." Mary said, facing Luke and pointing at Kate, "Kate, this is Luke"

"Luke." Kate said for no apparent reason, "are you the one fucking my best friend?" She said with a smirk.

Luke's eyes widened terribly much and his hands started to slightly tremble.

"Wha- No- Yes but-" Luke said, stumbling over his own words.

"I'm fucking with you." Kate laughed out, not being able to contain her laughter.

"He's cute." Kate giggled out to Mary as if Luke wasn't even there.

"I'm here." Luke mumbled, his cheeks turning a soft shade of red, but the moment he felt Mary's hand grasp his he immediately felt calmer.

Kate turned around and went into the house, leaving the door wide out and yelled out to Mary and Luke, asking them if they were thirsty.

"Let's go." Mary said before leaving a delicate kiss against Luke's Adam's apple and walked into Kate's house with Luke following closely behind her, their hands still linked together.

Mary and Luke found Kate in the kitchen with two glasses of water in her hands which she gave to the two when she saw them.

Luke, who indeed was thirsty due to how nervous he was, gulped down the water without taking a break.

"Wow," Kate laughed out, "someone's thirsty." She said with a wink and a smirk.

"Take it easy on him, he's still a newbie." Mary said with a hint of humour and kissed Luke on his cheek to let him know that she was joking.

"Not for much longer," Kate laughed, "not with me around."

Luke gulped, Kate kind of scared him for some reason and he felt his cheeks heat up and he honestly just wanted to disappear at the moment.

"Let's go sit," Kate said, nodding her head toward the direction of the living room, "The Middle rerun is on."

After the three had watched, like, half an episode of The Middle whilst also chatting, the doorbell rang and Kate jumped out of her seat.

"Oh, shit, right, Calum was supposed to come over," Kate said with the biggest grin on her face, damn, she was whipped, "I can finally introduce the two of you."

Mary was in deep shit.

See, Luke didn't know that Kate was dating Calum, Mary was sure that he didn't even know that Calum even had a girlfriend. She also hadn't told Kate that Calum was Luke's friend and that she had actually met him before in hope that this Calum guy Kate was seeing wasn't the same Calum that was Luke's best friend.

Luke whipped his head so he was facing Mary and gave her a confused look and when he then heard the door open he whipped his head to that direction only to see that his fucking best friend was there leaning into Kate and kissing her like there was no tomorrow, his hands dangerously close to Kate's behind.

"Calum?" Luke said, still very confused.

The moment that Calum heard his best friend's voice he broke away from the little make out session with Kate and saw Luke.

"Luke?" Calum breathed out.

"You two know eachother?" Kate asked, also very confused.

Calum saw Mary sitting on the couch next to Luke and made eye contact with her, both not knowing what to say nor do.

"Can someone explain?" Kate asked no one in particular, you could almost cut the tension with a knife in there.

Damn, both of Calum and Mary were screwed.
