- No you come, and bring Abigail with you, I've missed her
Mary was currently sat at home on her bed, alone, Luke nowhere to be seen. They had said goodbye after their banding after promises of tomorrows.
Mary felt really sad and alone since this was the first time apart from Luke since they had met, so Kate's texts had a really good timing.
After half an hour or so Mary heard the doorbell ring so she ran down the stairs to hug the shit out of her best friend whom she had missed so much.
Mary opened the door, and the moment she did Kate's body collided with Mary's and their arms enveloped each others' bodies.
The two had barely been away from the other for so long before, if they didn't meet they talked on the phone.
After their greeting Mary dragged Kate up to her room so they wouldn't have to face Mary's parents when they got home.
Kate ran directly to Mary's bed and laid down whilst Mary took a spot on the carpet next to the bed.
''So what have I missed?'' Kate asked Mary, curiosity lacing her words, ''last time we were away from each other for so long you-"
''Don't.'' Mary interrupted Kate, she didn't want to be reminded of one of her many mistakes.
Kate brought up her hands in a surrendering motion.
''So?'' Kate asked stretching out the word, ''are you going to spit it out?''
Mary hadn't had the chance to tell Kate about Luke. She hadn't told her that Luke wasn't as other guys. She hadn't even told her that they hadn't even slept together.
Luke wasn't in Kate's radar, and Mary felt some kind of satisfaction in that. Mary didn't even know if she wanted to share Luke with Kate.
She felt like what the two of them had together were only for them. Mary didn't want for the whole world to know it.
With hesitation clear in her voice she said ''Nothing, my parents found out about that boy after the party and grounded me.''
Kate raised an eyebrow in sheer mock, ''That usually doesn't stop you.'', she always knew when Mary was lying.
Mary just shrugged since she sucked at lying and she had the worst poker face known to man.
''Mary.'' Kate pouted, slightly offended. She and Mary always told each other everything and Kate didn't know what to do with the fact that Mary was keeping something from her.
The sad expression on Kate's face made Mary realize that what she was doing was complete bull. But she still didn't want Kate to know everything.
''He isn't as the others.'' Mary said with a faint voice, she felt like if she didn't say it out loud, what she and Luke had wouldn't be immediately crippled.
''Who?''
''He.'' Mary said, knowing that she was being very vague with her words.
''What is the problem with you today?'' Kate said with a slightly harsh voice, ''Why aren't you telling me?''
Mary let out a groan, why didn't Kate understand that she didn't want to share this with her. And when Mary thought more about it she remembered that Kate had also been with a guy at the party.
Mary narrowed her eyes, why hadn't she realized this later. Kate was like an open book. Mary knew that Kate was only acting like this because she had a secret herself.
''What?'' Kate asked the moment she saw Mary's squinted eyes.
''You,'' Mary said pointing at Kate, ''There's something you aren't telling me.''
Fuck, Kate thought, damn.
After several minutes of silence Kate just spilled it out. She knew that she was going to tell Mary sooner or later. She knew that she needed the advice only Mary could provide.
''I think that I'm in love,'' Kate started but was interrupted by Mary.
"That's great." Mary cheerily said.
"No," Kate mumbled, shaking her head, "I don't think he loves me back."
