I betrayed a friend, once
The one created all puns
The one because of whom my heart throbbed
Though no one could know, or fathom
When confronted upon by him
Couldn't muster up any courage, however thin
Betrayed once again, now in despair
The one kind which leaves you never
This incident left me numb
Because of another friend, so glum
This mistake of mine, so expensive
Remember my friends to never commit it
Time, however, fades things away
Not heal them all in a day
It leaves you blaming yourself
And eats you within day by day
