17. Cheers

I was just finishing getting ready when I heard a knock on the door, after opening it I saw tom standing there with a bouquet of flowers

"You brought me roses?" I ask blushing

"Yeah Olivia told me that white roses are your favorite so I got you white roses as you can already see" he said looking all nervous

"Do you want some water? You look nervous" I say going to the kitchen and finding a vase filling it with water and putting the flowers in it

"No I'm good, it's just you kind of make me nervous" he said looking down trying to hide him blushing

"Aww Tom, if anything I should be nervous not you" I said getting closer to him. He moved his head so he was looking at me now

"Let's head out I'll calm down in a few minuets" he said chuckling, I nodded and walked out of my apartment with him by my side.

When we got to tom's car he opened the door for me as I got in and then he ran around the car getting in himself

"So where are we going?" I ask getting excited

"That is a surprise miss Gomez" he said looking at me quickly and then looking back at the road

"Alright then mr Holland" I say smiling at him and then looking out of the window to see if I recognize where we are going, and... I don't.

After about a 15 minute drive we got to a park that I have actually never been in before

"Where did you find this place?" I ask tom surprised that he knows of a place that I don't in my own town.

"Me and Harrison found it a few days ago when we were wandering around" he said getting out of the and I did the same, he walked to the back of the car and pulled out a basket and a blanket

"Are we having a picnic?" I ask getting excited after seeing everything he's holding

"Wow how did you figure that out?" He said faking a surprised face

"I'm just so smart" I say ironically

He smiled at me and then reached his hand out for me, I grabbed his hand as he started walking towards the park until he found a spot that he liked, when he found it he laid down the blanket motioning me to sit down.

After we both sat down on the blanket he pulled out a few boxes of take out "I'm sorry it's take out but I can't cook to save my life and I thought the smarter thing would be to just buy food instead of trying to make it and then poisoning us" he said and laughed lightly

"It's fine tom, I love take out" I say smiling at him appreciating everything he's done for this date so far.

He continued to pull out a bottle of wine out of the basket and then two wine glasses. He poured is both some wine and handed me my glass

"Cheers" I say bringing our cups together and he repeated me saying cheers as well.

We sat there eating drinking and talking for hours that by the time I looked at the time it was 12 am already.

"Wow I guess we've been here for a while" I said after looking at the time

"I guess we have" Tom said after seeing the time as well. We both started cleaning up around us and put everything that was left back in the basket

"Shall we?" Tom asked while getting up reaching his hand out to pull me up and help me get up from sitting on the ground.

After we both got up and took all of our stuff and headed back to the car.

When we got back to my apartment I got out of the car and Tom got out as well walking up to my door.

"I had a really good time tonight" I said facing him when we reached my door "thanks for asking me out" I said smiling up at him

"Thanks for saying yes when I asked" tom said and laughed looking back down at me

"How could I say no" I say chuckling lightly

We stood there for a few more seconds in silence until I noticed we both started leaning in.
Our lips touched and I found my hands going up to his head holding his face between my hands while feeling his hands wrap around my waist pulling me closer, I felt my hands naturally leaving his jawline and going to the back of his head starting to play with the small amount of curls he managed to grow since the first time we met, meanwhile his hands were going up from my waist slowly towards the top of my back and from there to my face moving some hair that fell to my face back behind my ears and leaving his hands there for a few more moments.
The kiss lasted until we were both out of air and as we pulled away we looked into each other's eyes until I spoke up

"Thanks again for tonight" I said smiling at him

"You're welcome. I had a lot of fun with you" Tom said and we pulled away from each other after I gave a last peck on the lips and he started walking towards his car until he turned around and said "goodnight cami"

"Goodnight tom" I said smiling at him and leaning on my front door while watching him get in his car and drive away but not before he gave me a little wave and the biggest smile.

When his car was out of view I walked in my apartment leaning on my door once again, thinking back on the night we had.

He's definitely a keeper.
