JACK'S POV
***
"Jack! Let's try the rollercoaster next!" Emma tugs me along towards the rollercoaster and I allow myself to be carried by her.
"You really sure you never rode a single ride here? Because I'm finding it hard to believe that for 3 months, you haven't been even tempted to -" I kid but Emma bites my hand. Ouch! Told you she was a cute monster. Normally I'd pinch her nose just to get her to chase me but now, I was feeling a bit happier than usual. So I decided to give her a hug, to which she gasps.
"You okay Jack?" She questions as I pull away from her and I smile. If you're thinking why she sounded as if she's so shocked about it, I don't blame you.
The truth is, I don't hug people.
In my entire life, I've only hugged two people excluding the one just now. First was when an old lady almost slipped so I had to hug her so that she won't fall. The other was when a little dog fetched my shoe from the lake. He not only saved my shoe from drowning but he also saved me from a year's worth of scolding. So I gave him a thank you hug.
Okay so maybe, it isn't two people. It's one person and one dog. But other than that, I don't give hugs. And I also don't accept hugs.
I don't even hug my mom and I also don't allow her to hug me either. She gave up trying a long time ago, so did Emma. I mean I'm not claustrophobic or anything, it's just that...I don't like hugs. No other reason.
So when I hugged Emma, that's because I'm super happy. Because for the first time, she was so far away from me. And seeing her right infront of me is the best thing I could ever ask for.
"Jack! I bought you some cottoncandy!" I snap out of my trance and see Emma beside a cottoncandy stall. I grin and walk towards her.
"That'll be a dollar for both." The man reaches out his hands towards me and I raise my brow as I look at Emma who's blushing.
"I though you said you bought me some cottoncandy." I take out one dollar from my wallet as Emma takes the cottoncandies.
"Well...I wasn't really...sure what tense of verb to use..." She twiddles her fingers but instead of getting mad, I laugh and then I place her on my shoulders to which she laughs and giggles.
"I'm sorry Jack. I didn't really..." She whispers quietly but I try to look at her face.
"It's alright Emma. I'm not mad at you." I express as I start strolling around the amusement park.
"You sure?" She asks.
"How could I ever hate my number one girl?" I twirl her around and she laughs some more. Honestly, I could never bring myself to hate Emma. Ever. I put Emma down as she starts to kick around. Suddenly, she her eyes brighten up and she instantly drags me.
"Where we going?" I call out to her as she runs ahead.
"No questions! Just trust me on this!" She replies as she zigzags through the crowd. I try my best to follow her, on multiple times, losing sight of her. Finally, I manage to catch up as I find her waiting for me beside a stall.
"Hold...Hold on a sec..." I catch my breath but Emma just smiles. We look at the little boy who is down to his last throw, which hits the last stack of cups.
"Yes!" He cries out as the man in uniform hands him his prize - a toy water gun. He immediately runs away leaving me and Emma.
"Why hello there Emma." I spin around and see that the man in the uniform is actually talking to Emma who giggles and whispers something in the man's ear. Okay, they seem to know each other well, I think. Suddenly, the man looks at me and gasps.
