JACK'S POV
***
Whack!
"Ouch!" I burst out loud as I feel my head getting whacked by the stick. Wait...Didn't I...?! I quickly look around and realize that I'm still staring at the puddle and beside me is a smiling Rafiki. "What?! What just...Didn't I...And where...Weren't you...What just happened?!" I demand but Rafiki just looks at me, bewildered.
"You were looking into the puddle." He chuckles but I shake my head frustratingly.
"No. You left didn't you? Then I met a girl and -"
"Oh," Rafiki looks at me curiously, " You saw a girl in the puddle?"
"Yes I saw a girl but no! I didn't see her in the puddle! I saw her at the back of the tree and -" I hurry to the back of the tree only to find nothing. I scratch my head. What did happen? Was it all..just a dream? I walk back and realize that the rain has just stopped.
"Son, listen here." Rafiki looks at the puddle. "You have a fire within you that is -"
"Destroying my life, I know, I know! You said that already." I point out, expecting Rafiki to be shockeed but instead he nods.
"Exactly. Look into that heart of yours and decide for yourself, what do you truly see." He points to my heart and then I remember my question.
"What do you mean by-" I ask but then Rafiki disappears suddenly. I'm beginning to feel spooked out. Then, I hear a twig snap behind the tree. Oh boy...Is this for...real? De javu?! I shiver at the thought. I've heard of ghost stories before but I never thought that it'd happened to me. I begin to dread whoever is behind the tree when suddenly, I remember the girl ---
"I'll kiss that monkey if this really is de javu." I grunt skeptically as I get up and walk to the back of the tree. I take a huge breath and quickly step out of the shadow. "Hi there! I think we've met before!" I sputter but then I hear -
"GAH! WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU TRYING TO DO?! MUG ME?!" I am surprised at the masculine voice and open my eyes to see that I'm talking to a boy. Whaaa?
"Ugh...Sorry. I thought you were -" I sigh. Okay, so meeting that girl again was too good to be true. At least I don't have to kiss a monkey. I scratch my head but then I feel a hand on my shoulder.
"Listen here pal, I don't think you know who you are dealing with." I swipe his hand off me and yawn.
"Okay dude. Sorry. I don't know who you are but this I do know, I need a break from all this lecturing. Goodbye." The guy with sideburns flares up but before he could talk again, I quickly climb up the tree, far away from him. I then put my earphones on and lie on a sturdy branch as I look at the clouds. What a day...I hope this day will end. I'm beginning to feel drowsy when -
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
"WHAAA-?!" I perk up and pull my earphones off. "Where's the fire?!" I ask but then I hear a gasp from below only to see a girl.
"Don't jump. Please, I'm too young to see a person kill himself!" She replies and my face scrunches up.
"I'm not trying to -" I reason out but just when I point out to her that I was just sleeping, my foot slips. And that's when I fell.
