Virgil POV

I groan at the sound of my alarm. I wish the devilish sound could never turn on again, leaving me in an endless sleep. However, it will never happen. I sit up slowly, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.

"Virgil time to g-oh. You're up," my brother, Logan, said peeking through the door. He had his slicked back black hair and black rimmed glasses resting on his nose to welcome me into the morning. His tanned skin and dark eyes made me appear to be a ghost. He wore a usual black button up, denim jeans and a blue tie. I've only lived with him for a few months, having lived somewhere else about a year ago. I was attending a good school in Colorado with our mom until I got kicked out, again.

All I received was disappointment from my dad and Logan, but that was normal. I've been through nine schools now. The same thing over and over again for yeard now. Logan is out of school as he graduated two years ago with perfect grades and when he heard I needed a place, he reached out to me.

"Yeah I'm up, big shocker I know," I snapped sarcastically, standing up and picking up a random black shirt.

"Please, no messing around. Just hurry and get ready," he tells me closing the door. The two of us never got along well, it made sense though. He was dad's favorite as Logan had straight A's all through middle and high school. I had a A's and B's with a few a C's here and there. He was part of clubs and pretty much anything social, unlike me who sat locked in my room listening to music.

I looked in my full sized mirror and ran my fingers through my purple tinted hair to tame the slight mess. I threw on the black T-shirt in my hand and grabbed a pair of ripped jeans to match. I quickly do my makeup, packing foundation and black eyeliner on. I run downstairs and grab a granola bar, unwrapping and eating it. After scarfing that down, I put on my shoes, then throw my backpack over my shoulder.

I exit the house with very little food in my system, which is normal for me by now. I adjust the pack on my back and spot my best friend's dark blue camaro in Logan and I's driveway. Remy Domire, a junior like me, is the coolest guy I know. Pretty chill compared to most. He had is black leather jacket on accompanied by his white T-shirt. And his usual pair of sunglasses resting on his nose pulled Remy's everyday look together. This boy was laid back and never really gave two shits about anything or anyone.

"Sup," Remy says as I open the door to his car. I am met with loud rock music, the lyrics somewhat calming and very familiar. It was number five on Remy's favorite playlist, Say Amen (It's Saturday Night) by Panic! At the Disco.

"Hey," I said loud enough so he could hear me as I climbed into the passenger seat. I send a quick smile to my friend and buckle in. Remy pulls out of the driveway turning his usual rock music up as loud as the car would allow, despite the angry cries from the people on the block, who were still sleeping. I shook my head, almost feeling bad for the people nearby. Hint on ALMOST.

"Let's stop at Starbucks before we head to hell," I said turning the music down so I can be heard. Remy sends me a glare and then turns the music back up. I let out a yawn and then placed one hand behind my head.

"Sure, I need my caffeine for the day anyway," my friend since the eighth grade agreed. The two of us cruise to Starbucks with a conversation being held at bay. Something, anything was needed to be spoken about, but it wasn't. What it was I had no clue, but it was itching at the back of my mind. We arrived, and placed our usual orders, the waitress, Sarah, smiled at the two of us. She was a good friend of ours, being as we see her every morning.

"Hey sweet cheeks~" Remy flirted, sending Sarah a wink and a finger gun. I rolled my eyes and mouthed, "I'm sorry" to her. She gave me an award winning smile and went off to start our orders.

"You do realize she has a boyfriend?" I said placing my elbow on the dashboard, turning to him.

"Yeah, and do you realize, you're still single?" Remy retorted. Ouch. I playfully hit his arm and by that time our orders were ready. Sarah winked at my friend as she handed us out drinks, "Have a good day at school boys," she cooed. Sarah walked away, her long, curly blond hair swaying with every step as well as her hips.

Remy whistled and I blushed from embarrassment. "You, Remy, are going to be the death of me," He didn't agree nor deny my words, and pulled out from Starbucks. Just to mess with me he slammed the brakes at a stoplight, causing me to choke on my drink. "I feel so safe right now!" I sputtered out.

Remy laughed, "Ah, I won't kill ya, I promise I'm safe!"

"Says the guy who screams die while fighting heartless in a Kingdom Hearts game," I retorted.

"Okay that is different! THEY try and harm me-"

"No they harm who you're  playing, not you!"

Remy didn't say anything. I knew I won, because he knows I'm right. Suddenly the car jerks to the left, making me slam into my door on the right. I shriek as I hit my head on the window. "WHAT THE HELL!?" My friend smirks at me, "Asshole."

"Eh, I think I'll take that as a compliment." I groaned resting my head on the head of my chair, and before the both of us knew we were on our way, our coffees in hand. The music blaring out the speakers telling everyone who is on the road.
