Roman's POV

Three years later

The sun rose over the horizon, sending the sky into shades of pinks, oranges, and yellows. I sighed and pulled my boyfriend of three years now, closer into me. I felt him nuzzle his face into my chest while his massive black and purple wings curled into us. My tail wrapped around his arm, caressing the limb.

I smiled at Virgil, the one person I could never imagine would be the one for me. I had plans for him. Big plans. So big I had to ask Patton for help. "Virgil, Happy anniversary."

"Hwappy amifursery. . ." He mumbled, Virgil's arms snaking their way around my waist.

I've got to I get him off me, my legs are going numb. "Babe get up," I said, rubbing his shoulder, "Hey."

He groaned and swatted my hand away. "Noooo," Virgil snapped at me cuddling closer.

"If you don't get up. . ." I smirked, though he couldn't see my face. I then traced my fingers along the base of his wings.

Virgil snapped up, I tangling himself from me, "Okay! Okay, geez!" I laughed at my cute boyfriend. His purple hair was sticking out in all directions, and his dark eyes still had traces of sleep in them. Virgil's wings tucked behind his small frame, which had some muscle but not a lot, that has a few marks from various sources. For example, the very vibrant hickey that sat on the base of his neck, from yours truly. The sunlight illuminated his form only making his smallest of features visible. Like, the freckles that covered his skin without makeup.

The Avian pouted in his seat, folding his arms and looking away, his bottom lip sticking out. I pull his chin gently towards me and stare at him. His plump lips stuck out, wanting to be kissed. So, I did. I leaned forward and caught his lips on mine.

He pulled back, "What the hell!? We were having a fight, that wasn't necessary!" He hit my shoulder and glared at me.

"First of all, we weren't fighting," I kissed him again, " It was totally necessary, " I smirked as I landed, once again, another kiss.

Virgil's pout then turned into a smile and I was kissed again. Score! I cheered mentally. Four kisses in one morning!

"'Kay I gotta go get some things done, alright?" I said pulling away from the kiss. Sadly humans need to breath. "Remember, I'll come and pick you up-"

"-Around seven for our anniversary date, tonight, " Virgil interrupted me. He brushed my red hair from my eyes. A chaste kiss was placed on my cheek before Virgil went inside.

I followed and for dressed into something nice. I picked up a white button-up shirt, and black jeans. I also put on a red tie and my favorite pair of black shoes. Before leaving, I grabbed a small velvet box, my black leather jacket, and my car keys.

*************

Holy shit, this is happening. I repeated in my head as I pulled into Virgil and I's house. I hesitated to stop the car's engine, so scared about what will be happening next. No, you can do this, Roman. It's now or never. I then killed the engine and got out of the car. I made my way to the front porch, my hands in my pockets. One of them played with the most essential item of the night. With a shaky hand, I went to open the door. Before I could grab a hold of the handle, the object swung open. There was Virgil just as surprised as I was with who was at the door. He had a purple sweater that was able to contain his wings against his back, with loose wraps. He had slightly ripped black jeans and grey converse. His hair was tamed despite the mess it was this morning.

I smiled at him and held out my hand. Virgil giggled and took my hand. "Hello mon amour~" I purred, kissing his knuckles. I look up to see him holding his hand over his reddened face. I straighten myself and pull his hand away, kissing his cheek, "Let's go~"

I take his soft hands and lead him into the car. We both buckle in, ready to go. "Before we go mon amour," I said as I held out a piece of blue fabric.

"What-?" Virgil asked looking at me. I chuckled and tied the fabric loosely over his eyes. "Oh, how fancy~"

I bit back a laugh and we made our way to the spot.

After about a fifteen minute drive, we finally arrived. I lead my still blindfolded boyfriend, to the exact spot. I took off the fabric and revealed it to Virgil.

A gazebo with tiny lights strung through it stood before him. In front of the gazebo were two chairs with a small table in between, food sitting on top of it. Inside the small building was a setup that had a projector and a computer. The screen black, hiding the show that was waiting for us.

"This is incredible Ro. And you did all this?" Virgil's eyes sparkled even without the lights behind him, so brightly.

"Eh, I had a little help," he gave me a skeptical look," Okay I had quite a bit of help." My boyfriend sent me a smile and pulled me towards the two chairs. I let him sit down before kissing his forehead and starting the slideshow. The tune of our song began to play. It started when my dad shot you from the sky... it said on the screen. Pictures from the start of our relationship appeared on the screen. You said I love you and I did too. The second year of our time together flashed in front of us. The pictures of our moments together now then appeared.

As the last few pictures appeared I figured in my seat. Waiting for the moment. I then began to rethink everything. No, this is it. After all we have been through, I can't let this go. But now I have one final question for you....The screen then went black as well as the lights behind us. I then got down from my seat on got down on one knee.

AAAAnd there we go the chapter is done! I hope you all enjoyed my cliffhanger! Love you all so much.

When the lights turned back on, Virgil gasped at the sight of me. I popped open the small velvet box I had been carrying for a while now. Inside was a gold band with a red ruby and a purple saphire swirled in the center. Three diamonds then receded down both sides.

"Will you marry me?" I asked, my voice wobbling as the words came out.

There was a moment of silence and I began to hesitate over what I had just done. Was he not ready? Did I not do it at the right time? Does he not want to marry me? Oh no... he doesn't wan-

"YES!" Virgil practically screams. I smile the dorkiest one I had ever done, and slid the ring on his finger. I pulled him in for a kiss, our lips connecting. His hands made their way to my hair as mine rested on his hips. A passionate moment was then shared with our lips.

We pulled apart, a string of saliva connecting our mouths. Virgil looked at the ring and grinned up at me. "Virgil Charming, I like the sound of that."

"So do I."

Hehe I know, I'm not funny but I had to. Anyway, until the final chapter, take it easy guys, gals, and non-binary pals, PEACE OUT!!!!
