I was once again in a cell. My wings were ripped straight down the middle, the only thing I could do was get my feet off the ground a little bit but then my wings would collapse. Another dank, dark stone room with moss on the walls and no light. The only light coming through was from outside in the hall. Iron bars were my doors. It wasn't a very thought through door as I could easily break through it if I could get these chains off. I couldn't even get close to the door. I heard footsteps down the hall so I pretended to be asleep, sagging like a rag doll against my chains. I opened my eye just a little bit so I could see a blur of what was happening. Someone was being dragged across the floor. Their shoulder was limp and hair was red. I couldn't see the face though as it was a blur. I thought it might Scarlett but I would have thought she would be in another cell. The door was swung open and Scarlett was tossed inside.
The guy who tossed her inside yelled, "there's your food devil vampire. I wrapped her all up in chains so it would be easy to feast. See how nice I am? Now eat!" He walked down the hall again.
I opened my eyes and stared at Scarlett. He red hair was a mess with blood and sweat. Her clothes were tattered and her hands were chained behind her back. She had scars all over her body as if she had been cut open. He shoulder was popped out of place. She struggled to stand up. Her body was shaking and her face was full of pain. She winced and looked up at me.
"Hey... I see you're in no better shape than I am..." She murmured.
"I bet I can pop your shoulder back in with my wing... come over here." I nodded towards me. She slowly stepped towards me and twisted so her shoulder was facing me. I stretched out my tired and unchained wing using the tip to push it back into place. "There... is that ok?"
"Yes... thanks." Scarlett tried to grin but I could see in her eyes she was in a lot of pain. She sank to the ground and breathed heavily. She opened her mouth and her stomach gurgled in hunger.
"You're hungry, aren't you?" My face fell. Even if we did escape, she wouldn't be able to make it without any food. "Here feed off me." I said and leaned my neck and shoulders off the wall closer to her.
She looked at me. "Are you sure?" She said with worry written on her forehead. Her brow was tightened and sweat beaded her forehead.
I nodded and she stepped forwards. She opened her mouth and bit down on my neck. My jaw tightened but I tried not to tense my shoulder, as it would make it worse. Slowly I started to feel relaxed and sleepy, the pain of the bite went away and I felt a sort of bliss from it. Scarlett stepped back away from me and I instantly missed the feeling of bliss that I got from the bite. My body tensed up again as the feeling faded.
"Thank you... for the feed. But please don't find pleasure in it... I don't like biting my friends. Are you okay on blood level?" She lowered her eyes to the ground.
I felt a little lightheaded but other than that I was okay. "Yes I'm fine," I grinned. I wondered why Scarlett was able to move freely about the cell but I was stuck on the wall. Is it because I pose more of a threat than her? Do they really think my small power than I can't even control well is better than that of a vampire. A loud bang down the hallway followed by a roar woke me from my daze. Scarlett was already at the door trying to peer through the bars. I tried to move forward but remembered that I was chained to the wall. A young guy walked in front of the wall. He had large muscles and sweat all over him. He had no shirt on which made his chest show. He had little chest hair and a bit of a beard. He had a stern expression on his face but softness in his eyes. I could see Scarlett stop and stare for a while. A sort of realization dawned on her face after her nose twitched. She stepped backwards rapidly and ended up back to the wall beside me. The guy broke down the door with one kick then swiftly walked inside and broke my chains. He swung both of us over his shoulders and walked out.
"Hey let me down!" Scarlett yelled.
"Not yet," he grumbled. He charged down the hall but ran into some guards with guns. He threw us off his shoulders to the ground and ran at them. The bullets impaled him but they were pushed out and his body healed instantly. He ran at them and time stopped. He hit both of them within a split second and they were sent flying. When they impacted one of the walls their necks lulled to the side from breaking and their eyes lost colour. I began to think this man was one of us, but before I could think anymore he swung us over his shoulder again and continued running.
