Levana had left me in the dirt, but she was as weak as I was right now, and she needed my help. Through my last effort of strength, I pushed myself off the ground holding tight to rib cage, which was slowly healing. Due to the lack of blood, I could not heal as fast as I needed, to save both Faolan and Levana. The light hid away behind the clouds and the trees fell into a silent darkness, closing in on me. I pushed through the trees brushes branches aside, my feet stumbling through the soil. Eventually, I reached the clearing. A man lay bleeding on the ground, cuts and wounds covered his body, but more noticeably, a gun wound. A puddle of crimson blood lay beneath him. I diverted my eyes from the body trying to focus on my task instead of food. Scanning the trees, I found Levana leaning against a red trunk, Faolan kneeling beside her. I sprinted over to them falling to my knees at the other side of Levana. Faolan looked up to me, eyes full of sorrow. I turned back to Levana who lay motionless in the grass. Her shirt was soaked with blood and her side scratched off until barely any skin was left. A rib stuck out through the blood and flesh. Hunger retreated to the back of my memory, allowing sorrow to consume me. I gently moved her hair from her silver eyes, resting my hand on her cheek for a moment too long. Her face looked painless, her expression was restful. Something about her showed that she ignored the pain from her wounds. I felt nothing any more; my soul was filled with darkness. My heart was missing a piece. Without her, nothing in my life was complete.
I slowly opened my mouth, words hung from the tip of my tongue, not yet released into the air. I met eyes with Faolan. His gaze no longer filled me with butterflies, but now, I was filled with hate, anger, and most of all, a want for revenge. My sorrow and fear combined into one big outburst of full-blown hate. No one could know what I felt in that moment, the pain I felt like my heart had been ripped out of my chest and all love taken away from me. He was the cause of my pain, he couldn't save her, he couldn't save anyone, or he won't. That's why he has to die too, along with everyone else he couldn't save. Except instead of going to heaven, he'll rot in hell. I leapt over Levana's dead body and ripped at Faolan's face, pushing him to the ground. I'd kill him and I'd feed on his blood, his toxic blood. I pinned his waist to the ground with my knees, digging into his stomach. My hands held down his arms, pushing them into the mud. My fangs bared, I leaned down to his face. He was weak so his struggling to escape did no good. I too was weak, but my hunger for blood overpowered me. I looked into his eyes and paused for a split second, my grip weakened and he used this to his advantage. He pulled his arms towards his chest, causing me to slip in the mud and fall hard onto him. Using his hands that had become trapper beneath my weight, he threw me off his body, into the mud nearby. He stood up and wiped his bleeding lip from the fight before. Too bad he threw me into the wrong spot. I was now next to the dead soldier from before. His previously white armour was now stained with dark red blood. His eyes were still open, though dazed and his pupils where an ice blue. His mouth hung open and blood dripped from his lip. "What a waste of blood," I murmured to myself. I rolled to the side and leaned over his body. I heard Faolan stammering towards me so I had to hurry up. I dug my fangs into his neck, sucking the old blood out of his veins. His blood tasted amazing but so horrible at the same time. Faolan kicked me in the side, pushing me off his body back into the mud. I looked up at the night sky and laughed. It was a full moon, perfect time to attack. I licked my fangs, the blood still dribbling down my swollen bottom lip and my chin. In a second I was standing up in front of Faolan.
"Scarlett, please. I don't want to fight you. After Levana's death-" I cut him off from his pleading tone.
"You do not get to speak her name." My voice coursed with anger through the tones. I threw my fist that connected with his chest. He flew back five meters with a shocked expression dancing across his face, interrupted by pain when he crashed into a small tree. The trunk of the tree snapped under his weight. Faolan slowly stood back up, his back hunched and his eyes full of anger, just like mine.
