I felt nothing but a numbness surging through my body. I can't believe that bitch has made me fight to the death against someone I didn't know. Who the hell was I fighting anyway? I felt anger build up inside beating my insides trying to get out. A fire burned in my throat. It better not be Faolan. This thought came from deep inside my head. Why would I think that? Shouldn't I be happy to kill him? He is a werewolf after all. I better not have feelings for him. That's a crime and it's punishable by death in my society. They'd probably take Faolan too and torture until he bleeds dry. They might have parties while drinking his blood from chalices, celebrating a death of one of their enemies. Come on I can't do this now I have to focus and listen.
"Scarlett... Scarlett, listen to me. YOU BETTER NOT BE IGNORING ME YOU INSOLENT BITCH!" Her palm struck me across the cheek, leaving a sting behind throbbing through my cheek. I woke from my daze and glared straight into her dark soul. "Now that's the Scarlett I know. Finally, I can get to the point and you better listen this time. You were very, very naughty the other day. Your first punishment will be fighting one of my prisoners. Second, if you don't tell me where the dragon girl is, your little friend will face the same fate. Any thoughts?"
"Now I make my point. You are an evil bitch who doesn't know how to control people for shit! Your idea of fun is watching two people fight each other to the death. Anyone would be better at whatever the hell you call this than you." I leapt up out of the guards grip and threw her into the wall. "You don't deserve a crown!" I was immediately restrained and pushed to the floor.
"HOW DARE YOU TOUCH ME YOU LITTLE BRAT! I'M GLAD I'M GOING TO THROW YOU INTO THAT ARENA OF MINE!" She rushed forward and thrust her foot into my gut. "Hopefully this will teach you to keep to yourself. Also, you are forbidden from leaving this village until I teach you some discipline."
"You mean brain wash me?" I coughed out.
She kicked me again. "Prepare the prisoner. I'm going to enjoy this."
Her minions dragged me down a dark hallway, lit by torches on the wall. They opened a door, and I was thrown into a small dark room. I heard the key turn in the lock, and their footsteps fade away down the hall. I sat up and gripped my gut as pain raced through my ribs. She must have broken one when she kicked me. This is going to be a disadvantage in the fight. I slowly stood in my place. I felt lightheaded and a little dizzy. She must have impacted me more than I thought. Slowly I pushed myself up off the ground. The door burst open bright light filling the room blinding me. I shielded my eyes trying to see what lay beyond the door. A woman leapt out of the light and was flying straight towards me. I ran out of the door through the sandy arena beneath me trying to escape her reach. I turned back to see her bounce off the wall to the ground and run after me. She had a long lizards tail snaking in the sand behind her and curled horns rising out of her forehead. He nails were curled and as sharp as claws reached out towards me. I stopped and turned to her just, and she leapt into the air. I slid underneath her, shooting out my fangs preparing for a bite to her leg but all I saw was two large bat wings shoot out of her back stopping her midair and pulling her out of my reach. I skidded across the burning sand and came to a halt a few meters away from her. She dove towards me, hunger for my death burning her eyes. I glanced at the queen grinning down at me. She laughed haughtily at her victory over me. But I'm not going to let that happen. The woman dove towards me claws outstretched. I leapt towards her my hands reaching out as well. She slashed her claws across my cheek as my hand connected with her shoulders. Her claws are her main assets. To disable them I would have to do it from the shoulder. I pushed my feet out pushing onto her stomach then ripped her shoulder out of its socket, making it flop to the side. I then climbed over her limp shoulder onto her back underneath her flapping wings. She started twirling trying to get her good arm around to rip me off her back. She made a sharp turn and flattened her wings on top of me. I was losing breath, and this sun wasn't helping much either. I could barely do anything with this searing heat. I reached for the muscle stretching out of her back controlling her wings and pulled hard. I ripped the bone out of its socket causing the wing to stop flapping. She screeched and whipped her head around to face me. She slashed a claw trying to grab my arm. I pulled back just in time and jumped off her back. She crashed to the floor erupting a cloud of sand. Time to use that new power of mine.
