Something stirred inside of me, hope maybe. A warm sensation flooded through my veins. "I have to help him." Slowly, I pushed myself off the muddy ground, staggering to a tree nearby. I felt my rough breath push its way from my lungs to the cold, crisp air. I breathed heavily trying to regain my consciousness. I felt the blood pump through my body and my sight cleared. Pushing myself off the tree, I ran into the dark misty forest, ignoring the calls from behind me, shouting my name. My feet became covered in the damp soil beneath me. My clothes ripped and tattered, my hair a mess, pulled back into a ponytail, tied with rope. I leapt over a small river following the sounds of claws against metal. A tree stood in my way, posing as a threat to my rescue. I sprinted through the fallen leaves and overgrown brush. I jumped up into the air spreading my wings, reaching out to touch the trunk of the tall tree. Upon touch it withered and fell to the ground, allowing me to run across the rotting trunk then jump into a clearing.

A soldier with armour stood facing off against a snarling wolf. The wolf had scratches along its legs and down its back; likely from the sword the soldier was carrying. Blood soaked its fur, yet it didn't seem to notice. It one and only opponent was the soldier. The moonlight dazzled off the soldiers armour. It had purple glow, black in the creases. I felt it in my bones that magic wouldn't work on this armour so I had to use brawn and smarts. The flash of silver shone from the soldier's hands. He was drawing a gun moving it towards the wounded wolf. The wolf looked at me then paused, his face frozen. I knew then it was Faolan with his brown fur. I turned back to the man who took this opportunity to aim his gun. I ran forwards and pushed the gun out of his hand as it fired, hitting me in the shoulder but missing Faolan. I threw the gun into a tree, then jumped out of the way of his sword. The man hissed in anger then ran towards me, swinging his sword wildly. I ducked but he saw my move a mile away. The man threw his sword into my back, and then ripped it out. He grabbed me by my hair and threw me into the nearby tree where his gun lay. Faolan instantly leap forwards and ripped at the man's armour. Faolan was thrown onto the floor as well. He breathed heavily, exhausted. Trying to push himself up, he tripped on a rock and collapsed. The man lifted his sword ready to kill Faolan, but I couldn't let that happen. He was important to Scarlett, so he must live to make her happy. I picked up the gun and aimed at the man. His helmet had been ripped off so I had a clear shot. Slowly I pulled the trigger just getting him in the neck. I dropped the gun, relieved that Faolan was still alive as the man collapsed to the ground. Content with what I had done, I let the darkness cover over me like a blanket.
