I didn't like the smell of this guy, or the way he treated Levana and me like garbage to be tossed around, even though he did save us. We soon ended up out in the open where the sun was setting off behind the trees. He carried us all the way to the jungle then dropped us down to the floor. "You will run from here," he said glaring at me. "You can fly of course." He shot a pointed look at Levana who was inspecting her wings as the wound healed over. He turned away and ran towards the forest. I stood up and sprinted after him catching up in seconds. I looked back and saw Levana shoot into the sky then glide and full speed towards us. We all made it into the forest and we stopped running when we saw a light up ahead. I looked up and saw Levana try to not bump into trees but slow down at the same time and she was having trouble. She crashed into a tree and fell into the dirt a few feet away from me. I walked towards her and helped her up. She looked shaken but other than that she was alright. I turned back to look at him. He was just standing there glaring at us.
"Get a move on." He growled, then his expression softened and he tilted his head slightly only enough that I could see towards a tree.
I turned my head slightly just so I could see what he was looking at. A black camera was sitting in between two branches on a tall tree facing us. I turned to look at Levana who was inspecting her wings once again. "Can you walk?" I asked her.
"Umm I think so?" She questioned testing her step. "Yeah, should be fine." She grinned as she said that starting to walk towards the lights.
I jogged to catch up to her but he never caught up to Levana and I. I turned to look back and him and he was looking at the ground. I yelled, "can I at least have your name?" I furrowed my brow in disgust by the smell of him. His race... He has the smell of a dog, but a more powerful dog. Something about him wasn't right, it could have been the stories my mother told me about when I was younger. A war between the vampires and another race...
"My name? My name is Faolan." He stuttered looking startled.
This change in attitude is what worried me. He was so... different back there. I don't know what changed. He looked back at the ground. I wanted to ask so bad what he was... why he changed... where we are going. There are so many questions but I can't bring myself to ask one. I turned back to the lights but now they weren't just lights. They were a whole city. I idly kept walking looking around. People with wings were crouched on branches with tree houses behind them. Wooden huts stood around the place. Some holes were in the ground and some houses high up in the sky. There was a jungle of vines up in the sky and hammocks hanging from the trees. There were some people walking on the ground and some others like Faolan wandering around and walking into their dens. But I couldn't see one other vampire.
