Slowly I moved through the foliage. I could hear Faolan calling my name, distantly off behind me. I had to ignore him. My emotions were all over the place right now. I might attack him and he might not be able to fight back. I fluctuated between being empty, and being fuelled to keep moving by my blind rage. If I just blocked him out of my head, I could escape this forest, and the stench of death that lingers in the air. Levana's muddy hair tickled my legs as it brushed against my skin while I stepped over rocks, logs and small streams. Her skin felt dry, her face drained of all colour, her eyes still open. Small rays of light peered through the trees reflecting off the silver colour in her eyes that still shone bright. However something was there that I had never noticed before, there was a ring of purple around her pupil that seemed to be swirling around like a river. I began to spread out around iris like cracks, splitting apart the silver, and then flooding over it with its violet colour. Soon it leaked out over her entire eye, releasing panic through my bloodstream. Slowly I leaned down and placed Levana leaning against a tree. I stepped back, not tearing my eyes away for a second. The colour returned to her skin, spreading over her body like a black and white picture being brought to colour. I continued to step back, my ankle caught under a branch, causing me to lose my balance and trip backwards into the soil. Quickly I sat up, turning my attention back to where Levana lay seconds ago. She was standing up, full colour returned to her body, her hair was returned to a clean and silky state, tied into a waterfall braid hanging down her shoulder. Her clothes were no longer ripped and she wore a clean shirt, three-quarter pants and a fluffy jacket. She wore clean hiking boots on her feet with her last name written up the side of the shoe. She was staring across to the other side of the tree at a woman towering above her. She wore a sweet smile, but her eyes felt sinister. Her fiery hair blew in the wind, contrasting against her golden fluffy jacket, black lace singlet, and light blue denim jeans. She wore black knee-high boots with a thick heel reaching 6 inches. I pushed myself to my feet and ran towards Levana. Quickly I jumped in front of her holding out my arms, staring the woman up and down. I felt a warm hand touch my shoulder, a touch that I have missed. I leant into the warm hand on my shoulder and put my arms down.

"It's alright Scarlett. I'm here now and I'm fine." Her soft voice echoed in my mind. "She's my mother." Those words sounded like gunfire, echoing through the trees.

I spun around to face Levana. I started into her eyes searching for answers. Her iris had now become a shade of violet, a significant contrast to her original silver. "What are you talking about? How are you here? You... left me... you died." Water blurs my vision. I feel the cold tears dripping down my cheeks. My cheeks flushed red and my body began to shake. I recalled the moment I found her lifeless against the trunk of a tree. Sorrow and anger began to mix together, fuelling my adrenaline. She softly smiled, reaching out her hands and lightly gripping mine. Her hands felt soft and warm, nothing like they were before from the hard journey we had been on. She slowly lifted up her hand to brush my fiery hair out of my eyes, and then wiped away a tear dripping down my cheek. My body stopped shaking. I felt alive when she touched me, not like the dead monster that I was. I heard a loud, pointed cough coming from my left. I turned to see Levana's so called 'mother' standing beside us, looking slightly annoyed from our show of affection. When she saw that we were both staring, she quickly wiped away her frustration and replaced it with a sweet but harrowing smirk.

"Right, now we should get moving. I have some... errands to run. My daughter, you will come with me. However, leave the girl. She has no business with our family." She turned her gaze to me, turning that sweet smile into a deadly gaze.

"No! Scarlett will come with us. Wherever we have to go, she can come too. Otherwise, I'll stay here with her. Oh, and our other friend must come as well. He fought to save my life and Levana's, whether he failed or not, he still tried."
