Cara had woken up to Victor sitting on the edge of the bed, dressed already in his usual leather.
"Hey.. have you got to go?" She asked while checking the time.
"Yeah, I need to go sort this Butch situation. Penguin is demanding his head." He spoke softly with a sigh as he turned to face her.
"How is Oswald this morning?" Her genuine and almost strange care for the mans well being obvious.
"He has already left, has quite the plans for today. He did say to thankyou again, for your hospitality."
"I better get into work. I don't think Jim appreciated my brief explanation yesterday." The huffed tone caused a smile to appear on Victors face.
"Enjoy, I've got to go." He leaned down to place a small kiss on her forehead before standing up and stalking out of the window.

The GCPD was in utter chaos as Cara ventured through the doors. She dodged and ducked under the men and women running around, arms full with case files.
Jim stood with Harvey near their desks as Captin Barnes briefed them on the assignment at hand.
"Ah, Officer Dellany. Nice of you to join us today." Barnes called as Cara stepped forward.
"Yes Sir, I apologise about yesterday. It would seem some crooks did not appreciate our efforts to make this city safer." She spoke in a strong voice, not breaking eye contact with the obscenely large man infront of her.
"I see, did you manage to arrest any of these men?" He raised an eyebrow, likely doubting her honesty.
"No, I just made it out alive. I am going to build a personal case and have the men brought to justice." Knowing how to please the righteous man infront of her, Cara spoke with the authority any police detective had learned to possess.
"Good. Now, we have warrants to search all of Copplepot's buildings as well as his allies." Barnes paused as a commotion of noise errupted from bellow them.
"Theo Galavan, what a pleasure. I wish you all the best for todays election." Barnes greeted the man who approached with a smile.
"Thank you Captin and you, Jim for all your help." He continued to smile through his words, still not noticing the very woman his sister had kidnapped.
"What happened to your throat?" Cara piped up with an all too fake concern in her tone.
"Mr. Cobblepot knew that I was poised to win the election today, and came to me seeking an aliance." He lied so well that if Cara had not known better, she would have been fool enough to believe him.
"And you refused." Jim spoke to the man with little kindness now. He too knew Oswald and his strategic ways, maybe the seed Cara had planted was begining to bloom.
"I politely declined, yes." Galavan scoffed as though the answer was clear.
"So he stabbed you in the neck?" Cara piped up again, enjoying the way the mans beady eyes narrowed on her.
"That seems like a pretty extreme reaction, even for Penguin." Jim furrowed his brows as he made the observation.
Cara zoned out for a moment, thinking about how well Jim truely knew the man. Oswald claims they had been friends yet the man standing infront of her seemed to be rather distant, more of an aquaintance to most.
"And this is the second time he has tried to kill me. The man is a menace." Galavans words caught her attention once again as he spoke up in a 'pity me' kind of tone.
"And one I fully intend on putting behind bars." Barnes spoke now while looking at the likely new Mayor.
"I assume you have something for me?" Galavan hinted as Barnes grinned.
"Arrest warrant for Oswald Copplepot as well as search and siezures on all his properties and known assosiates." Another man spoke up while handing over the paperwork to Galavan.
"Quite a list." Bullock commented, almost making Cara jump, he had for once remained so quiet that she had forgotten he was there.
"We'll get right on it. Anything else?" Jim's bored tone made a smile creep up on her lips, he never did play nicely.
"Yes. In lieu of recent events, Judge Turnball has declared a state of emergency and granted the Mayors office additional powers." Galavan got a smug look up his face as Jim's face hardened.
"Meaning what, exactly?" The famed Gotham detective narrowed his eyes at the taller man.
"The moment I am sworn in, I am implementing a cerfew and I'm ordering your strike force to begin door to door searches until Mr. Cobblepot in aprehended." He explained in an over powered, authoritive tone.
"You're talking about Martial Law?" Jim frowned at the man before looking to his Captin.
"We are talking about bringing a dangerous fugitive to justice. We will be acting within our legal rights, isn't that right Mr. Dent." Galavan guestured the the well dressed man beside him who nodded with a serious face only a lawer could give.
"Absolutely." The man cara knew as Harvey Dent comented.
"You'll have our full support, Sir." Captin Barnes smiled again, Cara thought it odd how this was the most she had ever seen this man smile.
"Thank you Captin, Detective Gordan you seem hesitant, cautious?" Theo looked down at Jim with a smug face once again.
"You told me we had to use every method at out disposal to go after men like Penguin." He commented right back before adding that he did not understand why policing through fear and kicking down peoples doors was an effective strategy. After all that would make them the same as the men who ran the criminal under world and they needed the trust of Gothams citizens.
The prospect seemed to be blown off by both the Captin and Galavan, Cara walked away from the convsation no longer caring to hear the soon to be Mayor speak.
