Cara had told Victor that she did not need him to hide in the shadows of the woods around the mansion, she had told him that she would be safe. He had not listened. Victor was hidden in a tree watching down as guests of Galavan's arrived, he enjoyed looking at the women and knowing that, no matter how hard they had tried, Cara was still the best looking and dressed woman in that place.

He waited, watching on as Barnes' strike force began to take their postitions. He knew the event was starting just about then, one of the team members was positioned on the roof with a sniper rifle. Clearly they were expecting an attack, Cara had not mentioned any such plans that may have been made in the police department. Then again it was her job, to keep criminals like himself at bay.

Galavans sister who was also leather clad, snuck onto the roof some time later, Victor stared in amusement as the woman set up her own sniper and took aim at something in the distance.

He looked across the foggy entrance to see a limping man on the approach, only, he could faintly see a whole lot of men limping their way forward behind the first. He wondered for a moment if the Galavan sister could see them too but deemed it impossible as he could only see them while sat on the sidelines.

"I have eye's on Penguin." The young strike force guy spoke into his radio, Victor could barely hear him but then heard what sounded like Gordan telling the man not to shoot.

Victor decided the situation was about to get hairy and so help him he would make sure Cara got out unharmed.

As he was decending from the tree he heard the shot, he however knew it had not come from the young man, rather from the woman who was safely tucked away on the roof above.

"Victor?" A faint voice called out too him making him freeze for a moment, then once he recognised the nasally voice he turned with a grin.

"Good to see you boss, what's the plan?" Victor spoke with that cool tone of his, smiling at the Penguin.

"Never you mind, what are you doing here?" Oswald got an impatient twitch in his eye as Victor thought for a moment.

"Cara is inside, I had a feeling you were going to come. I thought I'd stay close in case she needed me." Victor admitted truthfully.

"Oh no need to worry! I knew she would be here, so I made sure every group knew not to touch her. I owe her at least that." Oswald smiled the moment he heard glass begining to fall, signaling that he would need to get into postition.

"Thanks boss, I'm gonna get her out though. Galavan is already after her too." Victor nodded at the little man before heading off towards the mansion.

Oswald watched the hitmans retreating form, he admired the mans loyalty but knew that in form, it was his greatest weakness. He smiled slightly before turning his own back and heading towards the car parked around the building, ready for Galavan to try and escape.

Victor ran inside the building, ducking and diving to keep cover and to avoid the eyes of any other cop that would no doubt try and arrest him.

"Psstt!" He hissed from behind a curtain, seeing that magnificent dress of hers flowing beside it.

He stepped to the side as Cara pulled back the curtain a little, grabbing her arm and pulling her behind too.

"Victor?!" Cara had tried to scold him but he simply planted his lips on hers. He pulled back after a second with a grin.

"You didn't think I was going to leave you in this lions den alone did you?" His grin grew wider as he saw her momentary dazed state.

"You are a fool! Anyone could have caught you. God damn it, I fucking love you!" She whispered before pulling him back into a kiss that gave away the fierce passion she felt bubbling inside her.

"Come on, before we get caught." Victor grabbed her arm once more and began to lead her out the way he came, this time he took in the scene before them. At least sixty men dressed as Penguin were attacking the mayors party guests. He was glad that Cara had been marked as safe as he watched one of the men take out a woman around the same age as his beloved.

"He killed my mother! My mother, Jim!"

The two heard the voice and knew precisely who it was, the broken sob of the man they both had grown fond of rang through the air. Cara looked at Victor who was shaking his head but she never was one to listen. Instead she walked around to the side of the building, taking a careful peek around the corner.

Victor followed suit so that he could drag her away if the time called for it. He too peered around the corner, seeing that Oswald had Galavan at gun point while he hid behind the car door, Jim had his gun aimed at Oswald in return as they bickered.

"Put the shotgun down." Bullock appeared from behind Oswald but the small man didn't even bat an eye.

"One of us are going to die tonight. You should know that if you do this, Jim, someone you know, someone you care about is going to get hurt." Oswald continued as Jim furrowed his brows.

"I'm ordering you to shoot him!" Galavan piped up from his hiding spot behind Jim but before anyone could react, a shot echoed through the air. Cara gasped, seeing the pool of blood form on Oswalds suit.

Her two fellow detective's aimed up to the roof and began their firing, Cara looked back down and saw that Oswald was now climbing into the car. He turned on the engine and fled the scene, relief washed over her but only for a moment as she heard Barnes' distinctive voice echoing from the front of the building.

Victor grabbed her hand and dragged her with him through the woods and into the saftey of the darkness, refusing to look back.
