************

Alexa had gone to bed before everybody else as she was feeling unwell.
After the bonfire party ended, everyone went back to their rooms. The cold wind picked up pace, making an eerie whooshing sound as it blew against the trees. The night sky had gotten cloudy, making it impossible to see the waning moon. But, it's presence could be felt as the clouds blocking moonlight, were a shade lighter than the other clouds in the night sky.
Occasionally, wolves could be heard howling in the distance, while the wind chimes were tinkling in their own melancholic melody.
Stacey and Katylin went to check on Alexa, to see if she was awake. But, to their surprise, the door to her bedroom was locked.
"I thought she said that the three of us will sleep together in the same room..."
Katylin looked confused.

"Maybe she wasn't in the mood for it. Didn't you see the way she was staring at the flames with tears streaming down her cheeks?! She didn't respond to anyone who tried to talk to her. Something is definitely wrong. Even the way she behaved with Geb was rather strange..."
Stacey's eyebrows furrowed with concern.

As they stood pondering on what happened to their best friend, the lights went out all of a sudden, plunging them into complete darkness.
Shivers ran up and down Stacey's spine. She knew something was about to happen. Something that wasn't nice.
As their eyes adjusted to the darkness around them, Katylin slowly made her way to where Stacey stood and held her hand tightly.
Both of their hands started getting cold, but they kept quiet, as their instincts told them to do so.
Movements could be heard from inside the locked bedroom.

"Reserare."

They heard the click of the door being unlocked. A cloaked female figure emerged from the shadows.
She moved with fluidity across the living room, to the front door.

"Aperi ianuam."

The door opened on its own, leaving the two girls stunned.
It was definitely Alexa's voice!
The cloaked figure stepped out into the night.

"Duc exercitum."

The moment she uttered the words, a soft music became audible, drifting from somewhere far away. She started following the sound and the girls started following her.
The music started growing louder and louder as they headed deeper into the dense forest.
Chills were running up and down their spines.
Though Stacey and Katylin didn't want to be venturing out this late into some creepy forest, and every cell in their body urged them to turn around and go back the way they came, they couldn't do it. It felt as if their legs had a mind of its own.

Suddenly, the cloaked figure in front of them stopped. She slightly turned her head to the right.

"Nolite sequi me. Est periculo."

The girls knew that she was talking to them, but didn't understand what she said. They stood dumbfounded, not knowing what to do.

"Lexi, I donno what's going on with you, but you should come back with us.... Venturing out this late into the forest, all alone, is not a good idea...", Stacey spoke in a low voice, fearing that somebody, or some creature, might hear them, know that they are defenseless in an unfamiliar, dangerous place and decide to attack.
