>Alexa's POV<

I was sitting on the couch, wrapped up in two blankets (as I had gotten cold from the shock), with a mug of hot chocolate between my hands. The boys had gone to unpack their belongings after ensuring that I was sane enough to not go sprinting off towards another misadventure.
Meanwhile, I filled in the details of what had happened and the girls were staring at me with their jaws hanging open.

God! I feel like an imbecile....running away like that....

"I can't believe he turned into a SNAKE! If I saw such a thing, I would have vaporised on the spot! ", Katie shuddered at the thought.

She had ophidiophobia and I was pretty sure if she was in my place, she would have had a major heart attack.

"WHY didn't you tell us that you are a PARSELMOUTH?!", Katie's eyes were on the verge of popping out of their sockets.
"I am NOT! The snake spoke to me in English, not Parseltongue!"

"Well, you know..... that's what Harry thought in the beginning too.....", Stacey seemed to be agreeing with her opinion.

"Enough! Firstly, I am not the 'Heir of Slytherin'.Lastly, you girls are freaking me out!"

Both of them exchanged glances, but thankfully didn't say another word regarding the topic.

Phew! That was scary.... Snakes are the last creatures I want to have a nice little chit-chat with.....!!

I was contemplating about whether or not I should tell Katie about her cousins, but then I decided that I shouldn't be dropping bombs at her consecutively.
A knock on the door startled all of us out of our thoughts.

It was Mike.

Reflexively, I looked at Katie. She seemed a little uncomfortable when she met my eyes. I couldn't help but feel sorry for her.
Stacey noticed our awkward silence and shot me a questioning glance.

"Later", I mouthed as I placed the mug on the table and tried to get the blankets off me, before proceeding to open the door.

"What's with all the stares going around?", Mike whispered looking behind me.

"Girl problems. What brings you here?", I asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

"Just to tell you girls that we are gonna build a bonfire now, and everyone is coming out to roast marshmallows. You can join us too, if you aren't busy chasing snake dudes or doing something to get yourself into trouble..."

If I were a dog, he would have definitely been bitten by now.

"Nah. No more 'snake dude' chasing on today's schedule. So I guess I'll join you, if that's what you'd like....."

"Sure."
He winked at me, corner of his lips slightly turning upwards.

After he went, I shut the door and went back to retrieve my mug from the table.
When I sat on the couch, I noticed the girls were staring at me with a weird look on their faces.

"What's that look for?"

"We think Mike likes you...."
Stacey scrutinised my face for my reaction.

"And what makes you think so? He might just be a flirt for all we know", I replied nonchalantly.

"I have never seen him talk to anyone the way he talks to you."
Katie looked at me with her eyebrows raised.

"What do you mean?"

"You know, I used to keep following him around the whole time, until yesterday. And I have never seen him look at anybody the way he looks at you. Infact, I didn't think he would be the kind of person who would crack jokes or wink. He always seemed too serious for all that. But with you, and only you...... he is different. Also, it's pretty obvious that David likes you too."
