>Alexa's POV<

I kicked the door with all my strength, for what seemed like the hundredth time, in the past fifteen minutes.
To my surprise, it flew open. I stood staring at the vast expense of trees in front of me.

Where am I?! What the hell is happening?!

I stepped out and turned around to see the eerie cabin I had woken up in.
It looked so haunted and abandoned. I couldn't believe I was stuck in that place a few minutes ago and managed to come out alive.
I walked away quickly, half fearing a skeleton to grab me from behind and drag me back into that wretched place.
Obviously, nothing of that sort happened. But I couldn't get over the strange feeling of deja vu.
So, I turned around to look at the cabin, one last time.

Why does this place seem so familiar?! I am sure I have never been here before...
This is weird. I just woke up alone in a spooky cabin, in the middle of an unknown forest, not knowing where I am or what time of the day it is, and I am freaking out only because I find this scene inexplicably familiar and not because it is extremely dangerous.
Wow.
I am probably in such a severe state of shock that I have completely lost my sense of sanity and priority.

Since I didn't know what was going on, I decided to follow the path ahead to see where it leads. Hopefully, people cared enough to search for me.

And hopefully they find me before any predator does....

I shuddered at the thought, but kept walking.
I looked up to survey the sky, trying to guess the time of the day. But, it was too foggy to see much. So I assumed it was early morning.
It was when I started shivering that I realised I wasn't wearing much of a clothing. I had on what looked like a torn black dress. Plus, I was barefoot.

Jesus Christ. I probably looked like an undead creature, walking out of that house in this dress.

The leaves crunched beneath my foot as I quickened my pace and started jogging, hoping to generate some body heat. My breath came out in puffs, making clouds that partially blocked my vision. But, I just kept running. Unfortunately, something sharp pricked my left foot, I lost my balance and fell on the moist, cold forest floor.
After the temporary paralysis of the pain, when I was able to sit up again, I examined my my foot carefully. A shiny metal object had pierced my heel.
I pulled it out, wincing as my feet started to bleed profusely. I covered the wounded part with a fallen leaf and applied some pressure hoping the bleeding would reduce sooner.
The last thing I wanted was to leave a trail of blood, tempting some wild creature in this forest to come and make a tasty meal out of me.

This is the most horrible trip I have ever had so far. So many strange inexplicable things happening, creepy guys hitting on me, not knowing who to trust or what to believe in, so many unanswered questions and the fact that I am not exactly freaking the hell out when I am supposed to have gone paranoid with all the happenings.... it's all so weird...

Without realizing, I was rubbing on the surface of the metal object with my fingertips. That's when it occurred to me that it wasn't exactly smooth.
