Chapter 19- Nightmare

A/N: Listened to Taehyung and J-hope's Hug Me on loop while writing this, the emotions I swear...

"AH!!!" Screamed Marina, jolting up. Her body bounced slightly on the soft mattress beneath it as she sat up.

Jungkook had woken up before her this morning and moved her unconscious form upstairs into his room, before disappearing back downstairs

Marina quickly looked around, scanning her surroundings with a certain sense of urgency, muscles still taunt with fear. A thin layer of cold sweat coated her back, making the soft, white blouse she had on, stick to her skin.

The familiar, masculine scent surrounding her helped calmed her nerves a bit, enough so that her breathing wasn't as labored.

Sure enough, a heavy set of footsteps pounded throughout the apartment, stirring up some of Marina's previous panic.

But instead of the dark snarl of her prosecutor early, a concerned face popped through the doorway instead.

"Sylvi?" asked an alarmed Jungkook, having run into the room to check if she was all right. His mesmerizing dark eyes were wide with concern, as he moved his hands to hover next to her shoulders, unsure of whether he should place them on her or not.

Marina noticed his hesitation and made his decision for him, already sobbing like a scared child as she leaped into his open arms, burying her face into his neck. "Kookie."

Her voice broke like it was made of a shattered layer of delicate glass as she clung on to Jungkook as if he were her lifeline.

He glanced down startled, eyes softening on her shaking figure. "Bad dream?"

She nodded in response, relaxing her body further into his embrace so that he was supporting part of her weight.

Sighing, Jungkook decided to loop his arms around her waist, standing there with her until her tears slowed.

"Better?" He asked, pulling back to stare into her eyes in a comforting manner, his arms remained loosely laying on top of her hips. She nodded once again then quickly shook her head.

Keeping her eyes trained on his puzzled face, she reached up, gently placing her hands on his face. Sucking in a deep breath, she gently pulled up his upper lip, revealing a near perfect row of pearly white teeth.

Marina sighed in relief, falling backward onto the bed so that Jungkook's arm fell limp by his side. "I'm alright..."

"Hm?" He questioned cutely, going cross-eyed as if to look down on his two cute bunny teeth with x-ray vision. He glanced up at her, breaking into a toothy smile. "Were you checking for fangs?"

Jungkook raised his eyebrows, his voice taking on a teasing lilt. Marina shook her head vigorously to deny it but yelped fearfully when Jungkook playfully lunged at her.

But due to the momentum and the sheer mass of his muscular body, he ended up unintentionally falling forwards crashing on top of Marina with a grunt.

Barely managing to catch himself, he landed in a plank position with his arms resting on either side of her head.

This put the pair eye to eye, gazes locked tensely on each other as they both explored the depths of the others irises.

Jungkook's nose was gently brushing Marina's, mouths very barely separated.

And to her surprise, he closed his eyes, closing the small distance by meeting his lips with hers.

And he kissed her.

Fire and lightning seemingly coursed through the woman's veins, lighting up every inch of her body as a brilliant red blossomed up the elegant curve of her neck, resting dangerously on her cheeks.

Marina's eyes fluttered closed after a brief second of shock, slowly responding to the kiss.

Their movements were gentle and tentative, neither knowing exactly where to rest their hands on each other, or when to break it off.

Both adults were inexperienced, that much was clear but it didn't matter.

All that truly mattered was the shared feeling of euphoria and the silent message looming in the air around them.

"I...

... wish I could I love you..."
