it was almost like going to the room of requirement was draco and amelia's way of going on dates. they would meet every other night after classes, gathering more and more information on one another.

"why were you in here in the first place?" draco asked after a few moments of silence.

it was nearing december, and draco was still on the hunt for the dark lord's heir. not to mention amelia jade was keeping him somewhat preoccupied.

"honestly," amelia sighed, "i was researching tom riddle."

draco merely nodded his head, dumbfounded at his discovery, "and why would that be?"

"i was in the library skimming through a year book, and a photo of tom riddle and a girl named thalia appeared. i've just had interest in finding out what happened to her."

draco knew. draco could tell her everything, but he didn't.

"amelia," draco looked at her, "what happened to your parents?"

amelia felt her jaw tighten, "they left me on the stairs to the orphanage."

draco didn't press any further, she was clearly getting upset talking about it.

he grabbed her hand holding it tightly in his cold one and pressed a kiss to the back of it.

"draco," amelia whispered, "why were you in here?"

draco could feel himself tense up, he really never gave her a straight answer as to why he was always in the room.

"i've just been mending... something," draco quickly changed the conversation, talking about his failure in potions class.

amelia was all too aware that he was lying, he was a horrible liar.

tom riddle's infiltration of harry potter's mind was getting stronger and stronger as time went on. meaning voldemort was only getting stronger by the minute.

harry sat in his potions class not caring for what professor slughorn was saying. he was too focused on the ache his scar was giving him.

"-potter and amelia jade," slughorn was saying, bringing harry out of his daze.

amelia walked over to harry's bench placing her books down, "i guess were partners for the project."

harry rose a brow at the slytherin girl, "guess so."

the two had never really been close. over the years at hogwarts they were in a few classes together, but never had they been partners. harry was pretty sure amelia had a thing with malfoy which particularly made him uncomfortable.

"well we have to perfect this potion before winter break, seeing as i've made it before it should be quite easy," amelia shrugged.

harry was taken aback, he knew amelia was intelligent, but why would she already know how to perfect potions they had just begun learning? he wanted to ask her, but knew he wasn't on terms with her like that, so he just left her to do her thing.

amelia began cutting up some of the ingredients, handing them to harry to place in the cauldron. they brushed hands much to draco's distaste.

"watch what you're doing, potter." draco spat at harry, making amelia roll her eyes.

"piss off, malfoy. amelia's was assigned my partner for this, i didn't ask for her to be."

draco was going to keep the bickering going, but he could tell amelia was getting upset, and let it go.

the class was soon over, and amelia had finished the potion. all that was left was a written portion that harry promised he would do. nobody else was even close to figuring out how to begin the potion so it seemed that they were very far ahead.

amelia followed behind penelope and willow as they exited potions class, "amelia, you finished the project?"

turning to draco following behind her, amelia gave him a small smile, "yes, i can show you later how to perfect it."

draco quickly grabbed her hand in his as they followed behind her friends, talking about how they would meet again later tonight.

willow and penelope pretended to converse, but made sure they listened to what their friend was saying to her new "boyfriend."

in all honesty, willow and penelope hadn't known if draco and amelia were even a couple. she was barely around, and had been coming back to the dorm after hours so nobody got a chance to question her.

amelia continually kept disappearing and draco malfoy was a large reason why.
