Kagami's eyes were wide open, at the same time they were trembling at the sight. Ryuma weakly glared at the person who had stab him. His glare turned into a smirk, trying to maintain his posture as he was trembling. "I never thought you would do this to your own father, Ranmaru."
Behind Ryuma was Ranmaru who had stabbed right through his father. He gave his father an icy glare, not quivering at what he had done. "I've had enough of all of this, father."
Ryuma was confused but still had his smirk. "What do you mean, Ranmaru?"
Ranmaru just shook his head. "I've had it with you. You haven't treated me like a real father would. Kagami is correct... A parent should love and provide for their child."
Ryuma clicked his tongue, turning to Kagami angrily. "What the hell did you say to my son?! How dare you brainwash him, saying such bull-"
"Shut up!" Ranmaru harshly took out the sword from Ryuma, making him fall face down on the ground. He stared down at his father, not letting any emotion show. "You should stop blaming others and take responsibility for once in your life. It makes you look like a damn fool."
Ryuma turned his head to the side, quivering in pain. "You dare speak to your own father this way..?"
Ranmaru closed his eyes while letting out a sigh. "Why bother trying to explain everything when you will never get it?"
Kagami slowly got on her feet, staring at Ryuma who was helpless. She looked up at Ranmaru who was glaring at his father. "Ranmaru... You..." The words wouldn't come out as she was too shocked to speak.
Ranmaru slightly smiled, knowing what she was trying to say. "It was because of your words, Kagami. You made me feel like I could do anything I want with my life. I chose to cut ties with my father." He paused as he looked straight at her. "And to join your family."
Kagami smiled and nodded happily. "Of course. You're welcome into the domain with open arms."
Ranmaru's smile widen a bit before staring down at his father, his smile quickly turned into a frown. "Kagami... This is your chance to end my father right here and now. I'm allowing you to finish the job. I know it wasn't my place to interfere, but I couldn't stand and watch my father kill you."
Swallowing hard, Kagami looked down at Ryuma, holding her sword tightly in her hand. She slowly walked closer to Ryuma, who was looking at her, his mouth dripping with blood. He weakly glared at her as he was still trembling on the ground. "I can't believe this..."
Kagami had the blade point near his face. "This is your end, Ryuma. Any last words?"
Ryuma was silent before he closed his eyes and answered. "I'm sorry." Kagami grunted as she didn't expect to hear such a thing from her enemy. "I'm sorry... For everything. I just wanted to erase my past... You just remind me so much of my brother and the woman I truly loved... I just wanted to get rid of you by killing you..."
Kagami couldn't believe what she was hearing. Ryuma was apologizing to her of all people. "You..." A sigh escaped her lips before continuing. It seemed like something had clicked in Ryuma's head to make him finally realize everything. "I can see that you were misunderstood in your past, and I assumed that it all got to you and made you snap. I know that your intentions were good in the beginning, and it's sad really that no one listened. But... What you did was still wrong. I know that you feel like you could start fresh, but... Now you're on the verge of death."
A sigh escaped from Ryuma's lips. "I hate to admit it, but... You're right." He then averted his gaze to his son. "Ranmaru... I'm sorry I wasn't a better father to you." That apology made Ranmaru grunt in surprise. "I wanted to make you strong like me, but... I shouldn't have been so forceful with everything..."
