The next morning, Kagami was heading over towards where Hayate was put at by Sidon. The sun was only rising, making the domain look like a light pink color instead of blue. As Kagami was walking down the stairs, she noticed Hayate talking with a couple of female Zoras. Getting closer, she could hear more of what he was saying.
Hayate had a look like he could charm anyone, giving the Zoras a dreamy look. "Ladies, care to take a walk with me? I need help to see where I'm going for I have been blinded by your beauty."
For some reason, Kagami became a bit irritated and marched over to where Hayate was. "Hayate. Do not bother these women with your ridiculous words." Kagami had a serious expression while looking at Hayate in the eye.
To her surprise, Hayate stiffened up, almost like he was obeying her. "I apologize! I won't do it again!"
Raising an eyebrow, Kagami looked at the female Zoras. "I apologize if he was bothering you. We'll leave you in peace." She grabbed his wrist, dragging him along with her. "My goodness... Who raised you to talk to women like that?"
Hayate looked to the side, sweating a little. "My parents, obviously..."
"Don't be a smartass with me. It's too early in the morning for you to be doing this kind of thing."
Hayate sighed. "I said I was sorry... Now can you please let go of me? You're kind of hurting my wrist."
Noticing her grasp was tight around his wrist, Kagami let his wrist go, feeling a bit guilty. "I apologize for handling you a bit rough. I'm not sure what came over me." Kagami let out a sigh, putting a hand on his shoulder. "You must be hungry. Care to join me for breakfast?"
Hayate's stomach began to growl, making him blush a little. "Sure..." Knowing that he was under her watch, he obediently followed her to help her with breakfast.
After eating a hearty breakfast, Kagami and Hayate were in the grassy area where their horses were, feeding them some food, and started to gather herbs. Hayate was watching her carefully, noticing that she carefully pricked the herbs off the stem. "Do you mind holding the basket for me?" Kagami was holding the basket out to him.
Hayate took the basket from her, still watching her gather herbs near the mountain. "You really know your stuff, huh?"
"My mother was a doctor, so I know quite a bit about medicine." Kagami picked an herb, and gently put it in the basket.
"I may not look like it, but I know a thing or two about medicine. I know that herb you're holding right now can cure the common cold." Hayate winked and felt proud to show off his intelligence.
"You're right, Hayate. It's good to know at least the basics for things like this."
"Yeah, I know..."
After collecting herbs, Hayate was watching Kagami mix herbs into a mortar, using a pestle to mix it. "Hayate, do you mind passing the jar here?" Hayate handed her jar, watching her pour the mushed herbs into the once empty clear jar. Hayate was watching her with fascinated eyes, like he never seen it before in his life. Kagami noticed that Hayate was watching very closely and carefully, making her feel a little claustrophobic. "Do you mind moving away a little bit?"
"Oh, sorry. I didn't know I was that close." Hayate scooted over a little bit to make some room. "It's fascinating seeing you do this. I really enjoy watching how it's processed."
"Really? Well... I'm glad to hear that." Kagami stood up with Hayate standing up at the same time. "We're going to give this to the Zora physician." Hayate nodded, following her back towards the domain, keeping his distance a little bit so he wouldn't make Kagami uncomfortable again.
