In Kagami's dream, she was witnessing her mother and Hayate getting cut down by someone familiar. They were getting close to Sidon, a sword in hand. Kagami tried to move her feet, but it was almost like they were glued to the ground. She heard the sound of the sword slashing a body as she heard a loud thud hit the floor. Sidon was lying there, his face lifeless, making her hyperventilate.
The familiar person was none other than her uncle, Ryuma, a sly smirk on his face, merciless as he was looking at her. "You're weak, dear niece. You let everyone that you love die. If only you were strong enough..." He slowly started walking towards her, his blade pointing towards her. Kagami tried to move once more, but it was no use. A blade appeared under her neck, only inches away from where her uncle stood. "You will meet the same fate as them."
Shaking a little in fear, Kagami's eyes narrowed to show that she was standing her ground. "This is only an illusion... You cannot fool me."
Ryuma let out a chuckle. "Maybe so. But soon enough it will be reality. Now..." He raised the sword towards her, ready to strike. "Die!" As Ryuma was striking the sword at her, Kagami shook herself awake in reality, feeling sweat drip down from her face and heart beating fast.
Putting her hand over her heart, Kagami let out a sigh. "I hate having these kinds of dreams..." Letting out another sigh, Kagami laid back down on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. Her hand on her chest turned into a fist, trying to calm her nerves. "Can I... Really protect them..?"
"Hey... Is this a bad time?" Kagami snapped out of her thoughts, turning to see Hayate lingering at her doorway.
Kagami quickly rose up from the bed in surprise. "Hayate... What are you doing here?"
"For one, I just want to let you know that I'm completely recovered." Hayate struck a pose while smiling, similar like Sidon.
Kagami just blinked but afterwards smiled. "That's good to see you're better now. What's the second thing you need to say?"
A genuine smile appeared on Hayate's face. "You're going to love this news even more! Your mother is awake, so you can go see her now!"
"My mother is awake?" Hearing the news, Kagami quickly got out of bed, not caring that she was still in her sleeping gown and her hair was a little messed up. She quickly ran out of her room with Hayate following, anxious and excited to officially reunite with her mother.
Rushing towards the physician's room, Kagami and Hayate made it into the room, seeing Sidon sitting at her mother's bedside.
Vivian turned to see Kagami, her face instantly turning into a smile and built up tears. "Kagami..!"
Unable to hold back her emotions, Kagami felt the tears rising in her eyes as she rushed towards Vivian. "Mother!" Her feet were moving on their own as she embraced her mother after not seeing her for many months.
Vivian embraced Kagami even tighter, gently petting her daughter's hair. "My baby..." She kissed Kagami's temple before returning back to embrace her. Hayate walked right next to Sidon, both admiring a heartwarming reunion. Breaking the embrace but still holding onto each other's arms, their faces were full of smiles. "I'm so happy to see you are well, Kagami."
"I'm so happy to see you are well too, mother. I thought you were..." Kagami sniffed as she couldn't say the next part.
"I thought you were killed in the village, but I'm so relieved to see that you are alive. I know that your brother and your father didn't make it..."
Kagami lowered her eyes, but looked back at her mother. "I just... Can't believe you're really here. How are you feeling?"
"I'm actually feeling much better! The nice physician fed me some great medicine that instantly boosted my energy, and healed my injuries quickly."
