luke was sad. but he wanted to be happy. he wanted to wake up in the morning and not feel like the world was crumbling in front of him. he wanted to wake up and enjoy the day ahead of him instead of dreading it. he wanted to feel as though the people in his life weren't against him all the time. he honestly just wanted to feel something, anything. but he didn't, and that's how he ended up drunk at a local bar, grinding on some random girl. he wasn't even into girls.

he had a boyfriend, michael, but he was away for the weekend, only about an hour away, and luke just wanted to be happy without him there. it wasn't working. he made his way over to the bar, slowly swaying as he asked the bartender for another shot of tequila. the man sighed, watching the poor kid getting drunk out of his mind, but slid him a shot glass filled with the tiniest bit of alcohol. luke downed it quickly, dropping the glass on the counter before bursting out into tears, sitting down and resting his head on the table.

'do you want me to call someone, mate?' luke looked up, staring at the man with drooping eyes and a lazy expression. he pulled out his phone and called michael, handing the phone to the man, not thinking twice. 'michael' luke stated as the bartender put the phone up to his ear, listening to it ring twice before someone picked up, an aussie accent coming through the phone.

'hey lukey, you alright?' the bartender looked at the boy who was giggling to himself.

'is this michael? he heard the guy on the other end gasp, before answering.

'y-yea this is michael. is luke okay? he's not hurt, is he? i never should've left him alone.'

'no, he's okay. he's actually at the bar right now, i'm the bartender, alex. i was wondering if you could come to get him?'

michael sighed, hearing alex baby-talking talking to luke. he figured luke was drunk out of his mind.

'could you put him on the phone?' alex agreed, and soon enough he heard luke's drunken giggles.

'mikey? s'that you? i miss you' luke slurred, resting his chin in his palm while he held the phone in his other.

'hey baby' michael whispered, hearing luke being to whimper. he hated it.

'baby, don't cry. i actually, i was going to come home tomorrow to surprise you. i'm going to come get you, okay?' luke hummed and wiped his eyes. he wanted michael to hold him.

'you just wait there with alex, okay? and no more drinking, okay?' luke agreed and soon, he was sat there waiting.

michael showed up an hour and a half later. he tried his best to get there quickly but there was tons of traffic. he walked into the deserted bar. it was getting a little earlier and people were clearing out. he spotted luke instantly. he was sat at the bar crying as alex tried comforting him. he looked pretty uncomfortable.

'lukey?' luke's head shot up and a smile spread across his face, making michael smile. luke got up and ran to michael. he nearly tripped over himself, but made it safely. michael squeezed him as luke wrapped his legs around the boy's torso.

'i'm-i'm sorry mikey' luke hiccuped, tears starting to fall. he missed michael, and he had only been gone for two days. michael thanked alex, paying for luke's tab and tipping the boy a little extra.

he carried luke to the car, helping him buckle his belt. the boy was exhausted and drunk, and he was not in his right mind. michael felt really bad. he knew luke was struggling mentally recently, and still he left him for the weekend. luke just wanted someone to love him.

'i'm sorry luke, i shouldn't have gone away. when we get home we can cuddle, okay?' luke grinned and agreed, getting excited. he loved michael cuddles.
