'luke, for god's sake, please tell me you bought more milk?' luke gulped and looked up, seeing michael standing with an empty milk carton in his hand. the blond sighed as he stood up, going to grab his keys.

'no, i'll do it myself. god, how could you not have noticed?' luke frowned as he looked at michael, seeing him truly angry for something so little.

'i'm sorry.' he felt himself getting a little bit stressed, he had a ton of work to do for his business and having michael raising his voice at him wasn't helping.

'whatever.' michael picked up his keys without another word.

luke felt tears in his eyes as he started making his fourth cup of coffee that day. he hated when michael would end conversations with 'whatever'. he always felt like shit when he would do that.

as he was huffing and puffing trying not to cry, he managed to hit his hand against the mug, sending it off the counter and onto the floor where it shattered and spilled everywhere.

tears fell quickly now, as he bit his lip to stop it from trembling. he didn't need to cry over this. it was something so little. all he had to do was clean it up. he started walking to get the broom but noticed he didn't exactly have any shoes on, and the pieces of the mug had gone everywhere.

he let out a sob as he frantically tried to figure out what to do. all his other thoughts were clouding his mind, leaving no room for reasoning and sensibility. all that was left were tears and frustration. he got down on his knees and started picking the larger of the pieces, ignoring the pain in his knees from tiny shards of ceramic now in his knees.

'luke, i'm sorry i shouldn't have- baby what are you doing?' michael ran over and stopped when seeing the mess. luke was sobbing, his mind was racing and he couldn't figure out what to do about the mug. his mind was already on overload, this was not helping. michael kneeled down in front of his boyfriend and grabbed his face, trying to get him to focus on him.

'baby, stand up you're going to get hurt.' luke's body broke with sobs and let his hands drop to the floor, pieces of the mug digging into his hands. he winced and brought one of his hands up to look, it was bleeding.

'm-mikey i didn't mean - i didn't do it on pur-purpose. accident, mikey, it was an accident i promise.' luke sobbed and looked into michael's eyes, trying to find any sense of calm that he could.

'alright, bubba, you're alright i promise. just take a deep breathe and stand up for me, yea?' luke nodded and slowly stood up, feeling a bit dizzy before michael picked him up carefully. he tried to protest but it came out as a dull whine.

michael helped the boy change into pyjamas, tears still falling from his eyes. michael couldn't help but frown deeply. the boy looked so anxious and sad, and there wasn't a whole lot that he could do about it either.

'm-mikey, can you get me a blanket. m'cold.' michael nodded and laid the boy down in bed, climbing in next to him after grabbing an extra blanket. luke was still trembling, the thoughts of the mess still on the kitchen floor in his mind. he went to get up, forgetting that he had just managed to calm down. michael held him down.

'baby, i'll clean it up later. just relax and take a nap. you're so stressed, sweetheart and i'm sorry i didn't notice it sooner. i'm right here, bubba. i love you.' luke smiled and turned and put his head in the crook of michael's neck.

'thank you mikey, i love you too.'
