'well maybe if you would just shut up for ten seconds, luke, we wouldn't have to fight' luke gasped and glared at him, feeling unwanted tears of anger fill his eyes.

'why would you say -'

'because luke, it's true. you can't - you don't, what am i saying?' luke looked down as michael's body untensed. his blue eyes were full of tears and he watched as they fell to the floor below.

'luke, i'm sorry...' michael let his words trail off, he shouldn't have said that. luke was non-verbal when michael first met him, and only after they adopted did luke really come out of his 'shell'. that was two years ago.

'm'goin to bed' luke mumbled, wrapping his arms around himself as he pushed past michael to go to his room.

luke hadn't spoken in three days. it was driving michael insane. he missed hearing luke's dumb sex jokes and his giggle when he would tell the blond to stop. he missed the sound of luke playing with their 2 year old daughter, ella.

'luke, can you help me with the dishes?' michael asked. luke nodded and stood up, standing beside michael as he helped dry the dishes after michael washed them.

'd-daddy? want cookie!' ella ran into the kitchen and stepped up on luke's toes, hugging his waist with her tiny hands. michael looked down at her and smiled  and then up at luke. he put down the dish he was washing when he saw the boy crying.

'baby, hey what's wrong?' michael asked, knowing he was at fault here. luke shook his head and leaned down to kiss her forehead. michael wiped his hands and picked ella up, grabbing luke's hand and dragging him to the living room.

'did you really mean it?' luke asked quietly, feeling weird talking. it felt just like the first time he had talked in front of michael.

'no baby, of course i didn't. i would never wish you didn't talk. i'm lucky enough to have a boyfriend with the most beautiful voice ever and i said something that mde you never want to use it again. i'm so sorry, luke' luke sniffled and looked at ella, who was giggling in michael's arms. luke smiled a little and wiped his eyes.

'i'm sorry if i get annoying at times. i just like talking to you. you make me feel comfortable enough to voice my opinions.' michael's heart melted at that and he stood up, holding ella with one arm and hugging luke with the other. he couldn't be luckier.

'you'll never be able to annoy me hemmings, i love you way too much.'
