{ i wrote this oneshot in my previous book, it's here now, enjoy haha }

luke listened as his phone rang for the third time in ten minutes, the buzzing from his back pocket becoming uncomfortable. he took it out and answered it, pressing it to his ear.

'luke, bud, can you tell me where you are?' ashton's voice came through the phone, making luke tear up, he wanted michael's voice.

'under a tree' ashton groaned.

'where's the tree?'

'in a park'

'lucas!'

luke let out a sob. why couldn't they just leave him alone? that's all he wanted. to be alone with his thoughts and writing notebook. he wanted to sit and write and let all of his emotions out into lyrics.

the boys, however, didn't like having luke alone in a place they didn't know. they always wanted the boy to be safe, and not knowing where he was wasn't helping.

'luke, please. calum's crying. he's so afraid. and michael is pacing the room and i'm calling you and trying to stay calm but you're scaring us again. please don't be like this'

luke didn't like that image at all. he didn't want his friends to be upset, nevermind his boyfriend. he never wanted them to be worried. he sniffled and wiped his eyes before taking a deep breath. part of him didn't want to tell them where he was, he just wanted to be alone. but then he heard calum crying in the background and he sighed.

'i'm at glenn dale park, under the tree right in the center.' luke rushed quickly before hanging up the phone. he felt bad, he really did. but he needed time to get away. and maybe he did this alot, but he was always needing time away. he didn't think it wasn't easy being the youngest person in a small band in australia. it didn't take a genius to figure that out. he was always being forgotten unless they needed something for the band that was urgent for him. and they were constantly acting as though he were two.

luke started getting cold and he was mentally beating himself up over not bringing a coat or a blanket. he curled up, his body slightly shivering. he could hear his teeth started chattering and he just wanted someone to hold him and make him feel warm again.

he closed his eyes as they started getting heavy, but opened them when hearing his name being called. he smiled when seeing the boys frantically looking for him. he started crying, wanting to be held.

michael was the first to spot him. he ran to luke's side and cried out hugging the boy tightly, afraid he might lose him.

'jesus luke, you're freezing' michael exclaimed as the two other boys ran over. he shrugged off his jacket and draped it around luke's shoulder before lifting him off the ground and carrying him to the car, which was left on so it would be warm.

'm-michael-' luke's voice trailed off as exhaustion overtook him again, leaving him at full mercy to michael. as the engine of the car got louder, luke woke up a bit and whimpered

luke buried his face in michael's neck, hearing ashton and calum talking quietly about his state of being. they were talking about making sure he gets some help he desperately needs. so much for not being babied anymore. he thought to himself. michael placed him into the car before running over to the drivers side. calum and ashton got into the car on either side of luke.

'wanna tell us why you were out there?' calum asked, tears still glistening in his eyes as he looked at the cold and tired boy. he simply shook his head before resting it on ashton's shoulder, tugging michael's jacket tighter around his torso.

once they pulled into the driveway of their small house, calum and ashton got out of the car and watched as michael quickly unbuckled luke and carried him inside, running so quickly that he almost tripped and dropped the boy.

'c-careful mikey, geez!' luke exclaimed, clingy tightly to michael. the older boy chuckled and started running faster. luke giggled and whined, wanting to be let down but at the same time, never wanting to stop.

michael put him down outside the bathroom door, running in quickly to grab a towel before running back out and wrapping luke up.

once luke and michael were both settled in bed, michael wrapped his arm around the boy protectively, then looked over at the boy.

'why did you run off?' michael asked, using his free hand to fix the blanket over both of them. luke ignored him and curled up in his hold.

'babe' michael whined. luke groaned and got up, looking at his boyfriend.

'cause,' he paused, trying to collect the right words, 'cause you guys are always treating me like, like a baby and i-i, im old enough to take care of myself!' luke exclaimed. he held back the tears in his eyes.

michael noticed his watery eyes, however, and pulled the boy in for a hug. luke wrapped his arms around michael's neck and tightened his grip so his fingers were touching. michael rubbed luke's back, making the younger one sleepy. he closed his eyes and rested his head on michael's shoulder.

'we can stop babying you, i'll tell the boys too.' michael whispered into luke's ear, as to not wake him up too much. luke whined and shook his head, curling himself up further. michael smiled.

luke looked up at michael with tired eyes and pecked him on the lips before his eyes closed and he fell asleep in michael's hold.
