Shalom beautiful readers!!! Thank you so much for your patience, it is much appreciated. School kept me on my toes and made a hermit of me (lol). I pray to God to finish this book before 2018 ends (we are doing this Abba! Fighting!!!). Enjoy ...
"...Spirit lead me where my faith is without borders, help me walk upon the waters wherever you will call me. Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander, and my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my savior."
These words remained engraved in Laura's mind as she sat down, meditation style, trying to segment all the details of the happenings of the day. The rejection from her father's family and the request of the only mother she knew. She wanted so badly to drown out the voices speaking so she could be still in God's presence and be at peace so she could make a well informed and Godly decision. She was in a lot of emotional pain and in a state of mental chaos but she finally decided to go before the greatest father of all and in all eternity...Jehovah.
The next song that came on was Lauren Daigle's "peace be still."
"Lord, even when my eyes cannot see beyond this immediate chaos and pain let me hear your voice that speaks peace over me."
She stood up and sat on the edge of her bed, picked up her phone and dialed Preston's number. She lowered the volume of her music box and smiled faintly as she heard his voice.
"Thank God Lauretta! I thought I had lost you. Thank you for calling. What do you need, I am here for you."
"Slow down Preston and thank you for your concern. I need your help."
"I am listening partner." He said genuinely.
"I will send you the contact numbers of Advocate Karabelo and I want you to help me meet with him."
"You are the talk of the office unfortunately. The report about the blood bath is making a crazy wave on social media and it is not good at all so stay undercover because our fellow journalists would want the gist and all. Calls have been pouring in for insider info but we have your back."
"Thanks Preston. Find time and visit the advocate while I handle the hospital issues this side and as it is I might not even be allowed to attend the funeral. Keep your ears down for me and get me info on that too."
"Sure thing! I will see you as soon as I can. Later."
Laura took a deep breath and ended the call. She needed expert opinion on her brother and adoptive father's fate with the law. She remembered the numerous visits from the social worker that took up her case after the Moloi's murder in partnership with Ma. Dikobe. She had to put up brave faces every time the kind hearted woman visited after Phillip's madness started.
She stood up and began to slowly pace around her bedroom slowly. She began to enumerate the problems and facts at hand;
· Her biological father got murdered and the perpetrator dead
· Phillip will be trialed for rape and their father for being an accessory to the crime if indeed he concealed it
· Her life would never remain the same...
She sat down again and gazed at the photo frame by her bedside of the three men walking her down the aisle. Tears began to run down her face all over again.
"Lord, why couldn't you just allow a happy ending for us all? Why did father lose his life after we just accepted each other? And now, a bigger battle lies ahead. I don't think I have the strength to handle them all."
Brandon entered and sat next to her. He heard all her complaints to God and held her hands in his.
"We will get through this Lauretta. We surely will." Laura got lost in his embrace and began to wail all over again.
The battles are about to end but it won't end well for all. Forgiveness is a great thing but even after being transformed by God, we might need to offer restitution and be punished in this life. Jesus didn't promise a life of bliss without worries but He promise to be there every step of the way and give us His peace. Are you in despair today, with a bleak and dark present and future? Fear not. The King of Glory is with you, don't carry that burden alone. He is our burden bearer and Prince of Peace.
Thank you for reading this chapter. Don't forget to share your thoughts. Stay blessed.
