Lauretta has been in an orphanage since few days after her birth. She had suffered several nightmarish experiences from moving from one adoptive home to the other. She was tossed around and each home gave her painful scars to last a lifetime...inclu...
Brandon rallied the help of Laura' s brothers to make a lovely and breath taking dinner for their one year courtship anniversary. The day has been planned out and all they need to do was get Laura to agree to spend her entire day off with Brandon.
"Women hate it when special days like this is forgotten so I am sure she would be flattered and happy when you tell her your plans." Phillip said with a smile. They were at the latter's house brainstorming on how the day's activities would unfold to the late night dinner.
"Thank you Phillip."
"Are you ready to pick her up?" David asked.
"Yes David. So here goes something big!" The two guys busted into laughter and patted him on the back.
"Don't worry. I already confirmed she received the bouquet of red Roses from Mum. Mum is so excited and in her mind I bet you she has finished planning your wedding."
"Thank you Phillip."
With that he stood up and said his goodbyes.
Laura dressed up in a light pink knee length dress. It was nearing evening time and Brian had called over an hour ago requesting her to dress up for dinner. He woke her up that morning singing Lionel Richie's "endless love." She had swooned, screamed gleefully and blushed non-stop. Even now as she waited in her room for him, she was beaming with joy and gratitude. She walked over to the flower case in her room and smelled the fresh red Roses he sent earlier. A pretty card bearing her name was filled with declarations of love and promises for the future. Her heart was soaring and all the pain and craziness of the past months disappeared. She could not contain her happiness and waited eagerly for what more Brandon has up his sleeves.
Since their anniversary month came (August), everyday he sends her hand written notes, poetry, flowers and words of encouragement till date. She could not have asked for a better man. She silently thanked God for giving her double for her shame.

Latoya entered her daughter's room uninvited.
"Lauretta. You look absolutely stunning!"
"Thank you Mama!"
"I should call my designer...I smell wedding bells."
"Mama! You think he will ask me to marry him?" Laura asked in disbelief.
"Why not? You don't need to court for ever before he pops the question. There is nothing keeping you from getting married darling or do you plan to get married at fourty?"
Laura giggled and replied, "No Mama. If he asks I will definitely agree to marry him."
"And if he doesn't today, he will do it soon. His grandfather loves you to bits too. When is he going back to England?"
