Broken But Not Completely Broken

This was suggested by Greyseal9. I might've changed the idea a lot but I hope you still enjoy! This is set after Helium 3, my other fanfic, so if you haven't read it then I suggest you do!

"Honestly, Alan, I'm fine!"
"You've broken both your legs, sprained your wrist and you've got a massive gash across your left cheek. How can you be fine?"
Kayo pouted, then winced at the pain it caused. Thunderbird Shadow had been hit by debris from an explosion and Kayo had been seriously injured. She was lucky to make it out alive. Fortunately, medicine in 2060 was highly advanced so she was expected to make a full recovery. But 1 week in to the month that she was meant to be resting and she was already frustrated by her inabilty to do stuff as normal. And Alan, being the overprotective boyfriend that he was, had insisted on making sure that she didn't try any stupid heroics. She sighed. "I'm bored!"
."We could play video games?" Alan suggested.
Kayo scoffed and held up her left wrist, which had a cast on it. "How am I meant to hold the game controller?"
Alan's face fell. "Right, sorry. How about we watch one of our favourite kung fu movies?"
Kayo sighed. "That'll just remind me of all the things I'd rather be doing."
Alan racked his brains to think of something different for them to do. Suddenly, an idea struck him. "Stay here, I'll be right back." He told Kayo as he darted out of the room. Kayo rolled her eyes. "Not exactly as if I have a choice."
Moments later, Alan came back, armed with a pile of old books. Kayo laughed. "Are you serious? Where did you find those? Everybody reads holographic books these days."
Alan smirked. "Try telling that to Grandma." He picked up a random book: "Secret of the Tombs: The Pheonix Code by Helen Moss." (If you haven't read it then I suggest you do because it's awesome.) He shrugged. "Sounds interesting..."
After about ten minutes of reading, laughing, and googling what a toblerone was, they reached the part of the book where Cleo finds out Ryan's mum is a member of The Ancient Order of The Eternal Sun, a crazy cult obsessed with eternal life, Kayo started to get tired. Alan noticed this and frowned. "You wanna sleep for a while?"
Kayo yawned, but shook her head. "I wanna know what happens next!"
Alan laughed. "Sleep for a while, then we can carry on reading."
About half an hour later, Grandma walked in, looking for her books. She saw the sleeping couple, curled up on the sofa, the book still in Alan's hand. She grinned, took a quick photo, grabbed her books and smiled proudly at the happy couple. It would take a while, but Kayo would recover.
At least they'd managed to find her and get her home.
Jeff hadn't been so lucky.

What did you think? I know it was a bit crappy because I'm not used to writing about people actually in relationships. Anyways, I just realised I've been writing a lot of Kalan fanfics. I was thinking I might do Brains and Moffie next seeing as I haven't writen about Brains yet. Or maybe I could do Jidley? Please comment and let me know.
