"We need to talk."
Ridley regarded EOS with a cofused look. She'd recived a message from John asking her to come to TB5 for a game of handball, but as soon as she'd gotten there she found out John was on Earth for the day. That was when EOS had turned up, claiming she forged the message because 'they needed to talk.' Ridley's mind spun as she tried to think of reasons the AI would want to talk to her. "Are you ok? Are you lonely because John isn't here?"
"You and me need to clear something up." EOS continued, ignoring the question.
Ridley eyed the AI suspiciously. "And what's that?"
"Are you in love with John?"
Ridley almost laughed. So that was what this about? "Maybe?"
"Yes or no?"
"Why do you need to know?"
"Answer the question!"
She laughed. "Ok. Yes. I am, as you put it, in love with him."
"Then you need to stop."
"I'm sorry?"
"Stop being in love with him."
"It's not as simple as that!"
"But you have to!"
"Why? Why should I? He's not going out with Lady Penelope, is he?"
"No, he isn't. Thankfully." EOS muttered the last part under her breath.
Ridley's eyes widened. "You're jealous."
"Am not!"
"Are too! You're jealous, because John is like your father and you don't want him to leave you! That's it, isn't it? You're scared of being alone again." Ridley stated, pjtting the pieces together.
"I'm not!"
Ridley scoffed. "EOS, stop denying it. You know you are. Well, let me tell you something. I would never, ever take John away from you. Not after what you've been through. Anytime you feel alone when John isn't here, call me. I'll keep you company."
"You would do that?"
"Why wouldn't I?"
EOS's lights turned green. "Thank you. I mean it."
"No problem."
They sat in silence for a moment.
"Ridley?"
"Hm?"
"Can I call you mummy?"
Ridley smiled. "If you want to. Not sure how John would feel about it though."
"Oh, trust me, he'd love that."

Hours later, John came back to TB5. He was surprised to hear voices. Making his way to the control room, he was shocked to see Ridley sat on the floor, talking to EOS. They both turned to face him. "Oh, hi John." Ridley smirked.
He struggled to find words. "How long have you been here?"
"All day, pretty much. Been hanging out with EOS. Well, must be off. Things to do."
"Bye bye Mummy!" EOS shouted as she left.
John turned to her. "What the hell happened whilst I was gone?"
