Milly felt like she was going to burst from the nerves. The fight before her's was unusually short, giving her a lot less time to get ready. She took a deep breath as she entered the ring, inhaling the rubbery smell the room gave off. She knew she was at a disadvantage, she'd be lying if she didn't. However, when Elaina had asked her about how she felt before the match, she had put up quite a bravo. She wasn't sure why, though it was probably the fact that Elaina was the person who saved her brother. It was embarrassing to Milly how she ran for help instead of fighting the thug herself. She always imagined herself as fearless, but in the sudden unexpected rush of the moment, she panicked. Being HERE, however, was different. Here she was going to prove she COULD become a Protector, even if her 'talent' was common. Bravo or not, Elaina didn't seem to be all that worried, and took her words without question. Though Milly was curious as to why Elaina was here and how she was aloud to just wander around wherever she felt like.
The prep bell rang, and Milly was instantly pulled back to reality. She glanced over to her opponent on the other side. She was a skinny redhead with a million freckles covering her skin. Milly decided now would be an opportune time to use her 'talent'.
Milly focused on the girl. The world became filled with numbers.
Name: Emily Thomas
Height: 5' 3"
Weight: 117 lb
Age: 18
Talent: Magnetisms (rank 2)
Note: Weak left ankleBlinking the world around Milly went back to normal. Learning the other girl's 'talent' and it's rank was important. It meant that she could gage how much was affected by that 'talent' and assisted in her plans. She let out a deep sigh as she focused back to the area around her. The rubber padding on the floor was well worn but sturdy, the wooden rafters were the other competitors sat looked new compared to the old brick walls that surrounded them. The only metal in the area was the lighting, cameras, and the announcement and display screens. Milly was going to have to be smart about this. Rank 2 in magnetism meant that an of these things were still small enough to be used against her.
The world seemed to move in slow motion as the starting bell rang. Milly ran at the girl across from her as fast as she could rushing her left, hoping to close the distance as soon as possible. If she could get closer enough, it could make it harder for her to use her 'talent'. As the girl lifted her hands to activate her 'talent', Milly made her move. Taking a swing at the girls left leg, she brought her down with full force. The girl barely had time to react. Milly was on top of her, punching her face as many times as possible before the sound to indicate that the match was over. Looking down at the unconscious girl under her, she noticed that her hands were shaking.
Clearly this girl wasn't trained in any kind of fighting, and thought that her 'talent' was all she was going to need. A frown fell on Milly's face. She hated people like that, just because they have rare talents they think that they can do whatever and get whatever without working for it. It made her sick. People like that, people like her father, they don't deserve it.
As she walked away from the ring, she noticed her brother and Elaina. She felt her entire body heat up when she saw the look on Elaina's face.
Even from where she was, it was clear. Elaina was glowing with pride.
