72•Lock Down

Alexis's pov

I gasped hearing a siren

I sat up in bed the room was being flashed with red light and the windows were suddenly barred

Harry sat up he threw the blanket off as he sprang to his feet he yanked on a pair of pants and grabbed a shirt he ran to Michael's crib snatching him up

He spun back around and looked at me "GET UP GET UP" Harry yelled I heard him and saw him rushing around but I couldn't process it he ran back to me and grabbed my arm yanking me up

"PANIC ROOM NOW" he rasped the doors flung open and the guards were gunna burst in but we were already rushing out I heard my doors slammed closed behind us and more thundering footsteps

I put a hand on my stomach my 4 month bump was pretty big now from the twins but I ran as if I wasn't even pregnant

We ran down the stairs as a mass the other guards all moved to entries and exits

Henry was rushed out of his room with us we were ushered through the dinning room into the kitchen into a hallway the guard running in the very front ran down the hall he lifted a patch of tiles and Henry of courses pushed his way in front of me and took a snails pace down the stairs

Finally he was down and Harry held me as we nearly tumbled down the hatch was closed taking 2 guards away from the mass to watch it over head lights buzzed to life

I only then realized Mike was crying it must have been a horrible shock to be ripped from your bed in a room filled with red lights and screaming sirens

At the end of the hall was a vault like door and the guards opened it there was a latter and Henry again stopped everyone as he huffed and puffed going down

I went down and Harry passed me Mike then climbed down then quickly took Mike back "I can hold him" I muttered as we started down another hall

"You can't hold him while you're pregnant" he groaned I know he probably thought this wasn't the right time to bring this up

Another vault was opened this time was stairs we stopped Henry slipped half way down making the guards push through and around me and Harry it took 5 men to pick him back up he went down and they looked back up at Harry and I we ran down another door awaited that was opened to show this one was just a white room a small vent and a bunk bed

I was pushed in I went wide spinning around Harry shoved Mike to me as they sealed the doors I backed up till my back hit the wall the lights were so dim in here the room was maybe 10x10 and I hated being so close to Henry especially in a confined situation

"WHAT THE HELL WAS ALL THAT?!"

"AS IF I KNOW" I screamed

Mike was still crying I frowned and started to bounce him rubbing his back "shh shh Mikey"

"SHUT HIM UP!"

"HE'S SCARED" I sat on the lower bunk rubbing his back "hey buddy it's okay it's okay mummy's here"

Eventually he quieted down I had laid him down and tucked him in to the grey blanket Henry was slumped over the table asleep in the leather chair but I couldn't sleep I laid my head on a bar on the bunk bed

I sat straight as I heard something it's been completely silent in here ,I mean other than the snoring of Henry, I stood up I realized it was the door

It opened and I covered my mouth seeing Harry was standing there decked out in his whole uniform wearing his belt full of bullets but also a sash of them ,with some missing, I ran at him and I went to hug him but he stepped back

"It's fine now Majesty" he stood stiff not moving any closer to me I nodded I tucked my hair behind my ear he slipped passed me and grabbed Mike from the bed "you can go up Majesty" he pointed I nodded and followed the way back up this time Henry was behind me the hatch was opened and the guards held their hands to me I took it looking around

"How long were we down there?" I whispered as they walked me through the kitchen, through the dinning room I gasped as we passed the first window it was day light now...

We were put down there at 12am

They stopped at the stairs I walked up hearing Harry following behind me I stepped into my room and walked to the sofa I grabbed the back of my sofa and let out a soft whine

I heard my door shut "what happened?"

"Majesty-" I spun around looking at Harry Mike still asleep on his shoulder

"Don't Majesty me Harry" I hissed he laid Mike on our bed and sighed

"An intruder was found last night"

"Intruder? From where?"

"He climbed over the wall" my blood felt like it froze, my chest stopped rising, my heart skipped a beat

"F-from the no-man's land?" I whispered he nodded "D-did he... was he... h-how?" I stuttered so confused

"He was the infected individual yes" Harry swallowed hard "you're banned from the garden until they burn all the grass, do a chemical treatment, and replace it all"

"So he's dead?" Harry nodded

"He was shot and he fell on the lakes edge his body was burned there" he then licked his lips "a guard was infected in the process... Novak, he was on duty he was talking with Jones and the guy climbed over and ran at them screaming for help the guy tackled Novak that's when Jones locked the door on him and started the alarm"

I frowned deeply "N-Novak no h-he wasn't a loyalist, h-he was just married we went to his wedding..." I felt sick

"He was executed and also burned on site" I put a hand on my stomach retching "are you okay? You feeling alright?" He walked closer but stopped half away

"What's wrong?" I frowned deeply ignoring his question

"I-I... I burned Novak" he closed his eyes and covered them with his hand "he was screaming he wanted one last message for his wife Conner shot him before he could finish and I burned him"

"Harry it's not you you did nothing wrong" he shook his head

"I know I know just... Novak was such a great man of all the people in this damn place him"

"I agree completely" I hugged him he wrapped his arms around me

"Everyone has been tested no positives yet"

"Are they gunna do anything?"

"I dunno I just wanted to get to you"

I nodded and held him tighter "I was so scared" he put a hand in my hair

He kissed my head whispering into my hair "I'll always keep you safe Alexis, with everything I have"
