2 ☆Questions☆

I quickly dismissed myself from Deanna taking quick steps towards the guy, he's wearing a black suit and a black tie, and I have to admit, even if I haven't seen his face, I can tell he's attractive. Why could he be alone here?

I think I was caught staring since the guy looked up from his book and gave me a dirty look and I immediately felt my cheeks heating up when out of a sudden he broke the silence.

"Yes, the weird kid is reading at the ball, if you've stared enough to mock me please leave now." He declared in such a husky voice as he looked intensely right into my eyes. I gulped. for some reason words got caught up in in my throat and nothing would come out.

"What are you waiting for?" He spoke again, he didn't sound mad, more like a bit confused and I could see the expression in on his face. He definitely wasn't mad, but made his voice husky on purpose to sound intimidating... I guess?

Realizing I had to answer, I took a deep breath, hoping nothing stupid would come out of my mouth.

"I was just walking by you know... saying hi..." Stupid. I instantly face palmed mentally, and the confused look on the guy's face just got deeper and more noticeable. Okay... how do I fix this....

"Uuhh.. what are you reading?" I caught a glance of the book resting on his lap, he slowly looked down to the book, then back up at me blink several times. God why is this so awkward.

"It's just a biology book..." his answer was almost like a mumble, and I realized he wasn't confident of telling others what he liked.

The thought made me instantly frown, not because of pity, but because I know very well that feeling, and believe me, it's not pretty. I think he noticed my frown cause I saw the shyness growing in him until he spoke.

"I know it's stupid okay, just go away with your friends and date or whatever." He sighed turning his gaze back onto the book. Oh I definitely wasn't leaving anytime soon. Besides, it's not like I had to see anyone.

To make it seem like I was leaving, I took a few steps back and walked towards the table full of drinks and snacks, I got two cups of Soda and walked back towards the guy, this time sitting beside him.

"Why did you come back?" He didn't look up, but I know he felt my presence, and his voice didn't sound so pleased.

"What are you reading about? The human body?" I avoided the previous question Handing him the cup before switching my gaze to the book still on his lap.

He sighed softly as he finally closed his book, placing the cup beside him. Okay.. So I did officially annoy him. "Okay look, If some jock or cheerleader sent you here to be nice to me then please stop, I don't need anyone being nice to me okay." The last 'okay' came out as an exasperated sigh.

Had they treated him this badly?

"I'm not here to play nice, I'm actually interested you know, it's not everyday you go to the ball as look at someone sitting down reading a book." I chuckled slightly, although we both knew the joke wasn't funny at all, not even a slight bit.

He rose an eyebrow as his eyes examined mines, looking like he was trying to decipher something, and he wasn't getting it, because it looked like he wasn't stopping anytime soon.

After a few minutes of awkward staring, mostly from me, cause he was absolutely lost in my eyes, definitely not in a romantic way, but in a investigative way. He wanted to know as much about me as I wanted to get to know about him.

"Wanna get out of here? It's getting a bit boring.." I finally broke the eye contact while getting up, fixing the dress as I walked towards the entrance. I waited a few moments to look back and see if he was following.

Once I saw he wasn't, I mouthed "you coming?" I know he was looking at me, and without looking back, I got out of the loud place soon hearing slow footsteps behind me, making me smile faintly.

So I couldn't wait that much to update next chapter lol so here it is! I really like were the story is going even if it's only been 2 chapters I hope you guys love it ❤❤❤❤
