Not even once Garrett turned to look at me the whole walk. I took a glance at him several times, he looked tense. I don't really know why. Does it bother him that I'm following him? Am I actually being creepy? Gosh why didn't I think about it before? I shouldn't have come.
My thoughts were cut off when I hit a figure, I looked up to see Garrett standing, his back towards me. I quickly pulled away, hearing a soft sigh then he turned around.
"Why did you stop?" I groaned as I rubbed my head after hitting it onto his back.
"Because I live here?" He replied in a bit sarcastic tone. My eyes widened realizing I had just followed him to his house. Of course he was tense, he didn't want me to come to the place where he lives.
"Right... okay, well yeah it was nice hanging out. Goodbye Garrett." I quickly turned, taking a few steps away before it got any more awkward.
I was almost away when I heard a voice. It sounded feminine, older. Calling Garrett. Then she said the least expected thing.
"Are you letting your friend leave by herself? Invite her to dinner!" Fuck. I turned to see a shocked Garrett and a woman standing by the door, she had the same brown hair, same pointy nose, same bright smile. It's his mom.
"She has to go mom she's very busy actually." Garrett frowned at me, giving me signals for me to leave. I really should run away right now. But for some reason my feet are stuck to the ground.
"It's just dinner, Garrett. Don't be shy, come in you guys, it will get dark out soon." Why is she so nice? I can't say no to her. I sighed making my way back to the door, Garrett gave me a death glare, but I only rolled my eyes and walked in, following behind his mother.
I looked around, it was all white and clean, white walls, white floors, white ceiling, white kitchen, some black here and there. I'm not sure if I love the order or if it's just too plain for me. But who am I to give opinions.
"So what's your name sweetheart?" I turned my head towards the voice speaking, Garrett's mother giving me the biggest smile ever.
"I-I'm Brinley." I smiled a little towards her. I looked around for Garrett but he was nowhere to be seen.
"Garrett went to his room, you can go if you want to." I swear I heard her giggle after she said that. She better not think we're dating or anything... because... we're not... Sadly...
I sighed, nodding slowly then making my way towards Garrett's room... wherever that is...
I swear I've been walking all over for about 10 minutes. I haven't seen Garrett, or his room, or even the way back to the living room. This stupid house is way bigger than it looks and I hate it.
Finally giving up, I just stood beside a window, waiting for Garrett maybe to come up and save me from being lost before anyone else finds me.
"Um hello?" I sighed happily, Finally Garrett is here.
"Garrett thank God you found me I was so lost, and I'm sorry for walking-" I turned towards Garrett, realizing it wasn't him. At all. It was George, and guess what? He was wearing no shirt.
"Wait. You're the girl that was with Garrett at that party aren't you? Britney? Didn't know you guys were so close." He took a few steps closer, I didn't dare to look up at him, but I felt the smirk growing in his face.
"I-It's Brinley." I stuttered. Seriously? That's the best thing I could say? I'm so dumb.
"Yeah. Brinley." He paused for a moment, leaving the both of us in an awkward silence before he spoke up again. "Are you guys dating or something?" He asked non-chalantly.
My eyes widened, why everyone thinks we're a thing? has Garrett never brought a friend before? Okay... probably not.
"I- we are not dating." I lowered my voice before I could say something I would 100% regret.
"Well, if my brother does not like you and ask you out, I gladly would." My cheeks started feeling hotter, I looked up at him to see a dorky grin on his face. I was at a loss of words.
My hugest crush was telling me he likes me. How is this even possible? This isn't real. He barely even knows me he is-
"What's going on?" I looked to my left to see a frowning Garrett, looking from me to his brother back and forth. Then I looked back at George, realizing how close our faces were, and he was still shirtless.
My whole face was like a tomato now, I quickly stepped away from him, More like I got pulled away by Garrett, I hope he doesn't think anything happened between me and George.
"Stay away from her George, she's- not yours." I couldn't help but notice how he stuttered when he said the last part, what was he trying to say?
"She isn't yours either." George smirked, I could see Garrett's expression deepen. "Dinner's ready by the way, tell mom I'll be there in a bit." Without any other word George left, not before giving me a wink.
I looked away quickly, feeling pressure on my hand, I looked down to Garrett and my hand locked together. I didn't even realize when he did that, too concentrated in praying these two wouldn't kill each other.
I think Garrett noticed our hands, because next thing he did was sigh furiously and walk back towards the living room.
And I have to follow now. And have dinner. With both.
This will be so much fun...
