Brinley's P.O.V.Garrett and I are dating. I can't believe it. We are dating! It feels extremely weird to even say that he is my boyfriend. It's just so hard to believe, a week ago I was seeing George and now Garrett. Ever since that night things have completely changed.
Garrett it's still the same weird science obsessed guy, but now he's trying to be better, he looks so cute whenever he tries to be cute but just ends up being awkward, which just makes him even cuter, just the thought of it is already making me giggle and my cheeks to become redder.
It's still unbelievable to me that the same Garrett I met almost two months ago, so cold and with trust issues is now dating me. So much happened in such little time, at least now I know, nothing will come in between us.
Regarding George, we haven't spoken since that day, Garrett says he isn't speaking to him, maybe that wasn't the correct way of leaving him... but I couldn't help it, when I had a crush in George, he was all I wanted, but once Garrett came into the picture, it's like everything in me changed. And once I had George right infront of me, he wasn't what my heart wanted anymore. I really hope he finds the right person for him. I really do.
I was having Lunch with Ally and dad when my phone started ringing, I picked it up ignoring the glare from my sister. She hates when I pick up the phone at the table. Then I saw who was calling, of course I'm taking this call.
I excused myself and ran to my room quickly before the call would end, then after closing the door I answered.
"Hey Garrett." He didn't even speak yet and I already had a smile ear to ear.
"H-hey Brin... I was just um wondering, are you busy today? Maybe we can g-go out?" He kept stuttering, making me giggle, I love how he gets so nervous whenever he asks me out.
"Garrett, we're together now, you don't need to be nervous, of course I'll say yes." I kept giggling, until I finally heard a small chuckle from him. That's at least a little bit of progress.
"I mean, technically we're not together, since you are at your house and I'm in my house but yeah, we're together, in a different way." I rolled my eyes at his remark. But Also I couldn't help laughing, he comes up with the dumbest stuff sometimes to be considered a genius.
"Alright genius, I'll see you later?" I smiled already getting nervous and excited at the thought of going out together.
"Yes, I'll be there in an hour." With that, he hung up, leaving me squealing and jumping around in my room. I need to get ready.
Choosing an outfit I completely lost track of time, Garrett should be here anytime soon. I hope I look decent. Once I had finally finished, I made my way downstairs, seeing Ally and dad doing their thing, while my plate was still at the table.
"Where are you going so dressed up?" My dad asked as he rose an eyebrow at me "You didn't even eat darling."
"Sorry dad, I'm going to see Garrett.." my cheeks blushed at the mention of him. "I'll be back soon I promise it won't take long." I placed my hands together, pleading him to let me go.
"Alright, are you guys already dating or something?" I saw the expression of his face change into a more serious one.
"Well... yeah but we just started it's no big deal." But it actually is a big deal.
"Well when do you plan to present him to me?" Then finally the door bell rang. Thank you so much Garrett.
"Soon dad, that's a promise." I gave him and Ally a quick hug before running to the door. I quickly opened revealing Garrett there, he had a flower in his hand. Which looked like he had just stole from his mom, I couldn't help but laugh.
"You didn't have to Garrett." I smiled and took the flower from him and stepped out of the doorway. We both walked silently for a few minutes after I finally broke the silence.
"Well, where are we going?" I smiled as we walked with no apparent destiny.
"Maybe we can take a walk through the park and talk for a bit." I nodded slowly, then silence again. He is quieter than usual, could there be something he wants to tell me? What in the world could it be?
Maybe I'm just overreacting, that's just how Garrett is, yeah I definitely need to relax a little.
We finally arrived at the park, and I sat on a bench, then Garrett sat beside me.
"How are things between George and you?" I asked a bit cautiously, I know Garrett and George have never actually had a good relationship so I wouldn't like to make him uncomfortable.
"He's still not talking to me...." was all he said. Well I guess That will have to do since he doesn't look like he's planning to say anything else. "Why are you asking that?" I saw his expression deepen and turn into a frown.
"Is someone jealous?" I smirked mockingly at him. He can get so jealous for the most stupid things sometimes, and I love mocking him about it.
"No, I'm not. I don't care." He tried to change his expression into a 'cooler' one but I wasn't buying it.
"Yeah right you jealous nerd." I chuckled slowly shaking my head, while he now crossed his arms like a grumpy child. "Anyway... Garrett there's something important I want to tell you." He nodded slowly, his expression now changed into a curious one.
"Well, my dad knows about us now, and he and Ally want to meet you." I spoke slowly, hoping he wouldn't runaway immediately. "Maybe we could have dinner at my house? This Friday?"
"Y-yeah... sounds good." He tried to stay calm, but I could see his palms getting sweaty, and him already stressing out about it.
"You'll do great, I promise." I reassured him as I took his hand on mine and planted a kiss on his cheek.
He better do good. I'm sure he will... right?
