Garrett and I walked through the crowded, loud room. I, being the shorty as Always, got pushed by anyone that passed by me, but my stomach couldn't help but get some butterflies when Garrett held my hand in a protective way. I tried my best to stay calm, but I was going crazy on the inside.
As we went past the dance floor, I looked around for Deanna or Jay, but they were nowhere to be seen. I sighed and stood there thinking what we could do now.
"Well what's the plan now party girl?" Garrett spoke, the annoyance in his voice was clear. I rolled my eyes, then my gaze went down to our hands, realizing they were still intertwined together.
I cleared my throat pulling my hand away, grabbing my phone as an excuse. I texted Deanna, and waited. Looks like she's not planning to answer anytime soon...
"Well, well look who we have here." I turned to my left to look at no other than the one and only Matt Smith, also known as the school's playboy, with the best looks of the entire place. Girls say, although... I see nothing attractive about someone who jumps onto anything considered a female.
"Can you please leave us alone, Matt." Garrett sighed, I turned to look at him, an annoyed look was clear. Why is he always like that?
"You know him Garrett?" I raised an Eyebrow at him, well of course he knows Matt, he called him by his name.
Garrett was about to answer but Matt quickly interrupted him.
"Of course he knows me sunshine, we have been best friends forever, isn't that right?" He gave Garrett a side hug but Garrett pulled away furiously.
"Do not touch me okay, leave us alone now!" Garrett shoved Matt away, my eyes widened, I never thought he was like this.
Matt laughed hysterically once he pulled away from Garrett, people started gathering around us telling them to fight. They better not.
"Garrett let's go." I grabbed his arm, but he pushed me away and I glared at him, more people kept coming, now there was no more music.
"Leaving so soon sunshine?" Matt asked getting closer to me, he looked right into my eyes then back at Garrett. "Oh... I get it, you guys want somewhere more private alright... hey guys Garrett the virgin is finally getting laid! I'm impressed, little boy, I thought you'd stay a virgin forever." He said and everyone started laughing.
I looked at Garrett, his face was red as a tomato, his hands were curled into tight fists, but he did nothing. I had to do something.
"Don't you have to be with some girl right now, Matt?" I rolled my eyes, giving him a bored look. What he said to Garrett really pissed me off, but I didn't want to let him know.
"Well you're a girl and I'm here... does that answer your question?" He got closer to me, now my hands turned into fists, ready to punch his nose, but that would be too much to handle.
"Brinley you don't have to-" Garrett started but I interrupted. "Shut up Garrett. Look Matt I-" then I was the one interrupted by a loud voice, making everyone turn, someone walked through the crowd until the person reached us. It was no other than George.
"What is going on here?!" He yelled while He looked at me, then Garrett, then Matt. The three of us stood quiet.
"Are you all deaf? What the hell is going on?" He glared at Garrett. All I wanted to do was tell him it was not Garrett's fault, but it wasn't the right time...
"I did nothing wrong, I was just trying to knock some sense into that nerd, he doesn't belong here!" Matt laughed sarcastically, he's really reaching my limit.
Ignoring Matt's comment, George spoke softly to Garrett, but I could hear since I was by them. "Look Garrett, I don't know what you're doing here, but please don't do this to me, or to you."
Is he serious right now?!
Everyone was quiet, I was astonished. How could someone say that to his own twin...
With no more words left, Garrett walked past George and everyone, flames were visible as he stormed out, leaving me behind.
George looked at me, but I could only glare at him, only walking out till I felt like he was feeling enough guilt.
I ran out, taking a look around to see if I could find Garrett. Gladly, I found him, walking quickly somewhere.
I ran towards him, yelling his name, but once he heard me, he just started walking quicker. I groaned. Why so difficult all the damn time?
I ran towards him, till I was finally in front of him, blocking his way to continue walking.
"You're not going anywhere." He kept his gaze down, trying to walk past me, but I wasn't letting it happen.
"Leave me alone Brinley! This is your fault! Leave me alone." He yelled at me.
I immediately felt tears forming in my eyes. I know he's only saying this cause he is hurt, he does not mean it. I wiped any tear even before they could even come out, then I pulled Garrett into a tight hug.
I know he's not used to this type of affection, I can tell by the way his body stiffened when I pulled him into the hug, but I only hugged tighter, till his body relaxed and he hugged me back.
I felt the back of my shirt a bit damp, but I wasn't going to say anything about it, I'm sure he was trying to stop himself from crying so I did not see him.
"Rusty's?" I whispered, giving him a few pats on his back. All I got was a nod, but I'm okay with it.
We walked back to my car and left to grab something to eat.
