Aurora kicks her legs helplessly and claws at the hand around her throat, staring directly into Thanos's eyes as he lifts her off of her feet.
"You're nothing but a mere human with stolen objects," he states coldly, waving his gloved hand around tauntingly. "What do you have that you think could defeat my infinity stones?"
"Rage and nobody to live for," the brunette spits in his face. "No one is allowed to fuck with my family, you fucking grape."
Thanos laughs, tightening his grip on her windpipe. "Don't worry, you'll soon be joining them."

Five days ago, Thanos snapped his fingers and destroyed half of the world, somehow managing to take away Aurora's entire world in the process.
The entire Why Don't We family had been lounging around in the living room, watching Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Aurora had her head in Carmen's lap - much to Zach's dismay - and legs across Jonah's, prepared to doze off at any moment.
Carmen's breath had hitched in horror right before she let out a blood curdling scream at the sight of her hand in Zach's slowly disintegrating.
"What- what's happening to me?"
Aurora jumped up, refusing to process what was happening. Her best friend she had sworn to keep safe was gone.
Callie turned to ash in the blink of an eye, along with Daniel. Aurora felt her stomach lurch as tears streamed down her face, anguished sobs escaping.
"Hey, look at me," Jonah urged his fiance, tugging her to his chest. "It's going to be okay. You're going to make it."
"But what about you?" She all but screamed, watching out of the corner of her eye as Zach disappeared too. "I don't want to make it if you don't."
"I love you. Don't ever forget that."
Aurora's lips on his is the last thing Jonah felt before he was gone from the world.

Four days ago, Aurora showed up at Stark Entreprises a sobbing mess. No one could figure out how she got through security, not even herself.
But she was there, in what appeared to be a room usually reserved for meetings, yelling obscenities at Tony Stark while Steve Rogers and Bruce Banner watched from a distance.
He never once interrupted her, appearing just as dead on the inside as she felt, as she prodded his chest and let all of her anguish out.
When she finally stopped yelling and collapsed to the floor in a crumpled heap, he didn't yell back or demand that she be taken out of his building. Tony sank to his knees and pulled her into his arms, letting his own tears fall as well.

Three days ago, Aurora sat at the long table in the same room she previously had a meltdown in, learning about everything that had occurred and all that the heroes had lost as well.
On top of their mourning, they all carried the guilt for those deaths. They were supposed to stop it and weren't able to.
Aurora learned about how close IronMan got to taking away Thanos's gauntlet and how Thor thought he had killed the alien right before he snapped his fingers. She learned the names of all of the Avengers who died trying to save the world.
And she learned that the remaining Avengers had no plan nor idea on how to defeat Thanos now.

Two days ago, Aurora left Stark Enterprises in the middle of the night in a stolen aircraft. The entirety of it was filled with stolen weapons, such as a shield worthy of Captain America and Thor's axe - all of which she planned on returning eventually.
She was beyond angry and wasn't about to sit around while everyone else came up with some plan. There was no telling how long that would take.
She wanted justice and she wanted it now.

One day ago, Aurora found the planet Thanos was hiding out on.
****
Her vision was beginning to darken and her defiant kicks slowed down worryingly fast.
Aurora wanted to fight back, but instead she let her arms fall limp. The thought of being reunited with Jonah again was enough to make her rethink a couple of decisions.
After all, if she truly succeeded in killing Thanos, who would she have to go home to? He had a point. If she let him win, she would see her family again.
The alien grins, watching her arms fall and eyes roll into the back of her head. Her skin was alarmingly pale and he knew her pulse was about to give out due to no oxygen reaching her brain.
"The Avengers couldn't end me," he chuckles darkly. "You should have known bet-"
Thanos drops Aurora and falls to his knees, his head rolling off of his shoulders as he does so.
The girl gasps, her hand flying up to her bruised throat and taking in as much oxygen as her lungs could hold. She looks around bewilderedly, not having the slightest idea as to who saved her life.
When she calms down long enough to focus, her gaze falls on a familiar red and gold suit standing behind Thanos's body.
